Whether it’s a box trailer, work trailer, boat trailer or something that only comes out now and then, it still needs proper attention.

It sounds backwards, but sitting around for long periods is not always kind to a vehicle.

Batteries can lose charge, tyres can age, seals can dry out, and little issues can go unnoticed because the car “hasn’t been doing much”.

They all matter, but they don't all mean the same thing.

If you tow a trailer, caravan or work trailer, it’s worth understanding what those limits actually refer to.

The important part is this: it’s not just about what the trailer can carry. Your vehicle, your trailer, and the whole combination all have limits that you need to respect.

If your car has stop-start technology, you may have noticed it sometimes works… and sometimes it doesn't.

That doesn’t always mean there’s a fault.

These systems rely on a range of conditions being right, including battery charge, engine temperature, cabin temperature and electrical demand.

So if the air con is working hard, the battery charge is low, or the engine isn’t at the right temperature, the car may decide not to switch off at the lights.

If you drive a diesel mostly on short trips, school runs or stop-start traffic, your car may not be getting the chance to do what it needs to do.

Many modern diesel vehicles have a diesel particulate filter, also called a DPF. It helps reduce emissions, but it also needs the right driving conditions from time to time to complete its regeneration cycle properly.

When that doesn’t happen often enough, it can lead to warning lights, poor performance and a whole lot of frustration.

It’s one of those problems that can sneak up on drivers who are doing nothing “wrong” at all.

For months you've been running the heater. Now that spring is warming up, it's time to make sure your air con is ready to go. 🌡️

**Spring AC Check = Smart Thinking**
After winter, your air con system might have some surprises. Seals can dry out in cold weather, refrigerant levels can drop, and if the system hasn't been used in a few months, it might need re-gassing to work at full capacity.

**What Spring AC Service Includes:**
- Visual inspection of hoses and connections
- Refrigerant level check (too low = weak cooling)
- System pressure test (is it working efficiently?)
- Re-gassing if needed (top up refrigerant)
- Odour check (if your AC smells funky, we'll find out why)

**Why It Matters Now:**
You don't realise how much you depend on air con until it's hot and it doesn't work. A working AC isn't just comfort—it's safety. Fogged windows and driver discomfort on hot days = increased accident risk.
