FOR SALE AT THE ’HAUS | 1958 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupé

A very special XK with a history to match.

Autohaus Storage is pleased to offer this beautifully presented 1958 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupé, combining a comprehensive bare-shell restoration with almost three decades of enthusiast ownership and an extraordinary Australian and international touring history.

Acquired as a restoration project in 1997, the XK underwent an extensive body-off restoration, with the body and chassis restored separately and traditional techniques. Finished in striking Regency Red Metallic over tan leather, the restoration is documented with period photographs.

Importantly, this XK150 was built to be driven rather than simply displayed. Touring-focused upgrades include an enlarged approximately 3.8-litre XK engine, fully synchronised Jaguar Series 1 XJ manual gearbox with overdrive, aluminium radiator with dual electric fans, upgraded front brakes and a 3.54:1 differential.

And driven it certainly has been.

Over more than 50,000 kilometres, the XK participated in Jaguar National Rallies throughout Australia, received Gold in the D'Etat Class at the 2001 Jaguar National Rally, and collected a number of “Most Desirable Car” awards.

Its touring history also includes the 2001 Darwin–Alice Springs 50th anniversary commemoration of the famous 1951 XK120 open-road record, Tasmania for the XK150's 50th anniversary in 2007, and perhaps most remarkably, shipment to the United Kingdom in 2008 for the XK60 Diamond Celebrations at Goodwood and Cowdray Park, followed by a tour through Ireland.

A familiar car within the WA Jaguar community, it has also appeared on the cover of JaguarsWest on several occasions.
