π TRACK CURATOR β Barcaldine Race Club
Barcaldine Race Club is seeking a reliable and hands-on person to take on the role of Track Curator, responsible for the ongoing maintenance and preparation of our racecourse and associated facilities.
This is an important role within the Club, ensuring our track is maintained to a high standard and is safe and race-ready for our race meetings.
What youβll be doing including but not limited to:
β’ Maintaining and mowing the grass racing track and associated areas
β’ Track preparation including harrowing, rolling, watering and turf maintenance
β’ W**d, vegetation and general grounds management
β’ Maintaining and monitoring irrigation and water requirements
β’ Maintaining racecourse equipment and machinery
β’ Checking and maintaining the running rail and associated equipment
β’ Preparing the track and facilities ahead of race meetings
β’ Undertaking post-race meeting repairs and maintenance
β’ Maintaining relevant track maintenance and service records
β’ Working with the Club Committee and racing officials to ensure the track meets race-day requirements and not
What weβre looking for:
β’ A practical, reliable and self-motivated person
β’ Experience with turf, grounds maintenance, agriculture, racing or similar would be highly regarded
β’ Competent with tractors, mowers and other machinery
β’ Good understanding of basic machinery maintenance
β’ Ability to work independently and manage regular maintenance tasks
β’ Willingness to work additional hours around race meetings when required
β’ Commitment to workplace health and safety
β’ A current driver's licence
Experience in racecourse track maintenance is desirable, but weβre happy to consider someone with the right practical skills and attitude.
