We're heading to Brisbane.

Come and see us at the Let's Go Explore Caravan & RV Expo, Brisbane Showgrounds, 29 October to 1 November. You'll find us at site 600.

Thirty years, thirty stories. Here's another.

When Cathy's husband could no longer tow their caravan, they weren't ready to stop travelling. So they found another way, and bought a Horizon Casuarina.

In Cathy's words: "Livin' the dream continues. Where there is a will, there is a way. Happy days."

Fiat or Mercedes? It's often the first question we help people answer.

In this one, Clay talks through what each does well. The Fiat is wider inside, which makes room for generous walkways and an east-west bed, and the Melaleuca fits in a standard car park. The Mercedes brings German engineering and 4x4 capability, which is why most of our Mercedes builds are 4x4.

A Horizon isn't just a van with a fit-out. It's built to a standard, and that matters more than it sounds.

Every design is submitted to Australian Design Regulations and built to it. On top of that we're RVMAP accredited, a second layer of compliance checked periodically, covering everything from gas venting to how the cabinetry is fixed.

As a recognised second-stage manufacturer, the finished vehicle is a genuine Horizon motorhome, not just a converted van. For you, that means a build that's safe and compliant, and one that holds its value far better at resale.

"What would your mum say you do for work?"

We asked one of our team, and the answer made us smile: "She just says I build motorhomes."

There's more to it than that, of course. He talked about the crew, the people, and the care that goes in, how you can see the difference at a show between something built with passion and something just put together. Thirty years on, that's still what it comes down to. Good people, building something properly.

When someone walks in unsure where to start, we don't talk motorhomes. We talk about the vehicle first.

If four-wheel drive matters, there's really one answer: the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. If it doesn't, the Fiat Ducato comes into play. It's shorter, easier to manage, wider inside and very efficient. Taller travellers often lean Mercedes for the longer bed.

Once the vehicle's settled, we talk layout, then power and cooking. The right foundation, chosen around how you actually travel. Not a sales pitch.
