The delivery has been patiently waiting for some love lately with work and family commitments. Managed to score a new blower manifold which now makes the injection sit 90mm higher but shhhh dont tell the engineer! 😜 Have been formulating a few ideas on parts of it and back into it after Christmas. Hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas/new year! 🍻

Back door is in and now swinging on its hinges! Aligned the door windows up with the same height as the windows in the body. Bit of sheet metal work to do now to create the door jam

Got a bit of time today so started having a play with the back door frame. I was given this split window section from a 30's dodge sedan and playing around with putting it in the back door. Had to cut the brace in the middle to flatten out the curve but they should work pretty well.

Bit more done on the drivers side now. Started tie both sides in with the roof hoops. Slow process with a lot of bending and tweaking to get it tight to the body. Probably drove Dale Louden crazy today handing bits back and forth for a pump here and there in the pipe bender.

Steel out now 90% complete on 1 side now time to move over and start the other side. Still requires some more bracing once I have figured out where the su***de door hinges will sit.

Hooking right into this Steel out now! The legs are pretty sore climbing in and out of the car giving peices a trim with the grinder or a tweak in the pipe bender. Really happy how it's coming along and the body feels stronger already. Bit more bracing to do around the B pillar once I figure out where the su***de door hinges are going to be.

Back in business! Great day in the shed getting back into this body fabrication. Got the other sill panel and original fuel filler hole welded in. Started on the body steel out which has given the legs a good workout climbing in and out to give the tube another tweak in the bender. The rear guard was floating around in my way so roughly aligned it and tacked it on. Will play around with that at a later date. Used the pipe bender to do the radius by marking it every 25mm and keeping track of how many pumps in took at each point. Found that depending on where the seem direction was in the tube depended on how straight the tube stayed around the curve.

Time to tear it all back down and get back into it! Its been a busy few months between work and family trips but time to continue the momentum I had before the Hot Rod show! Few small bits of panel work to do then into this body steel out!

A massive weekend done and dusted! Car is back on the Fabrication table tucked up in bed! So many people to thank!

I am so grateful to Steve Bridges and the VHRA team for getting me in to display the car. The interest from people and the positive comments received was nothing short of inspiring. If I had a dollar for everyone that stuck there head inside the car I'd be a rich man. I hope they all took something from it.

My wife for allowing me spend so much time in the shed whilst keeping the kids all sorted these last couple of months. Her endless support means the world to me! Love you babe!

Mum and Dad for dropping what they were doing to lend me a pair of hands with the car or kids! Bouncing my fabrication ideas off dad has always been treasured to me!

Rob and Dale Louden for taking the time to clean and reassemble the car this last week! Was a big help and allowed me to focus on other things on it.

Adrian at VIP towing for the lend of the tilt tray! Made the load in and out so much easier!

Thanks to everyone else that stopped by for a look and a chat! Was great to catch up with you all!

All set up in at the VHRA Victorian Hot Rod Association Victorian Hot Rod Show at Melbourne Show Grounds. It's been a lot of hard work and help from some great people that I will mention later but super excited to be here! I will be loitering around both days so come say hello!

Massive weekend on the car with some big progress!

✅️Started the cowl steel out
✅️set up the steering column and shafts with intermediate rod end
✅️dummy firewall to hold base of steering column
✅️Cleaned up and installed exhaust, fuel tank, shocks etc.
✅️Gave the body a good polish back to bare metal

A little bit more work to do here and there to get it ready for the Hot Rod show next weekend at the Melbourne Show Grounds
