Some jobs test more than just your tools—they test your patience too. 😅🔧
This 2011 Holden Commodore came to us requiring a replacement ECU to be programmed.
Unfortunately, during the initial programming process we experienced an equipment failure, which corrupted the ECU. While it's frustrating, module programming isn't always straightforward, and occasionally things like this can happen—even with the best equipment and procedures.
Rather than giving up, we dug in. Out came the laptops, diagnostic gear, programming tools and everything else needed to diagnose the issue and recover the vehicle.
After plenty of troubleshooting and persistence, we successfully programmed the replacement ECU and got the Commodore back up and running. 💪
These photos show what module programming can really look like behind the scenes. It's not always a simple plug-in-and-go job—sometimes it takes experience, the right equipment, and the determination to keep going until it's fixed.

🔧 Hyundai Steering Knock Repair – A Common Fault Fixed! 🔧
This Hyundai came into the workshop with a very common complaint – a knocking or clunking noise through the steering wheel, especially when turning the wheel at low speeds or while stationary.
After diagnosing the fault, we found the issue to be the steering column coupler (dampener) inside the Electric Power Steering (EPS) motor assembly. Over time, these rubber couplers wear out and develop excessive free play, causing the annoying knock that many Hyundai and Kia owners are familiar with.
To repair the fault, we: ✅ Removed the complete steering column assembly
✅ Disassembled the EPS motor unit
✅ Replaced the worn coupler/dampener
✅ Reassembled and tested the steering system
✅ Confirmed the knocking noise was eliminated
This is a very common issue on many Hyundai and Kia models fitted with the electric assist motor mounted under the dashboard, and replacing the coupler is a much more cost-effective solution than replacing the entire steering column.

🔧 Another Astra Steering Lock & Non-Starter Issue Fixed! 🔧
This Holden Astra was brought to us after the owner experienced a frustrating non-starter issue caused by a failed electronic steering lock module – a common fault we are seeing on these vehicles.
The customer travelled all the way from Natalia to have the fault diagnosed and repaired by us. After carrying out thorough testing, we confirmed the steering lock module was the cause of the problem.
Rather than replacing expensive factory components, we were able to provide a cost-effective solution by installing a steering lock emulator and carrying out the required programming to restore reliable starting.

Another one saved from the dreaded Holden Cruze transmission nightmares 😅
This Holden Cruze came to us suffering from a harsh clunk when selecting gears, flashing code 138 on the dash, ABS light on, and the gear indicator on the cluster randomly jumping between Park and Drive while idling.
After carrying out full diagnostics and testing all CAN communication lines to the TCM, we tracked the fault back to a failed Transmission Control Module (TCM).
These faults can easily lead people down the wrong path replacing wiring, sensors, or even transmissions unnecessarily. Proper testing is the key 🔍

Another modern vehicle stopped in its tracks by failed electronics.
This 2017 Holden Astra came to us with a nasty non-start fault caused by a failing steering lock module built into the steering column. These systems are designed as an anti-theft feature, but when they fail they can completely immobilise the vehicle.
The scary part?
The factory repair usually means replacing the entire steering column and programming it back into the vehicle — a repair that can quickly become VERY expensive. 💸
Instead of forcing our customer down the costly replacement path, we supplied and installed a steering lock emulator to bypass the failed module and restore reliable starting at a much more affordable price. ✅

Another mobile repair sorted 👌
We were called out to repair this mobility scooter after the speed control switch had failed and left the unit unable to operate correctly.
After diagnosing the issue, we replaced the faulty speed control switch and carried out testing to ensure everything was functioning smoothly again and the scooter was safe to return to use.
