Fresh off his feature win at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway last weekend - his first win for that track, Grand Annual Sprintcar Champion Brock Hallett and the Q5 Sprintcar by GW Racing team are looking to back up their performance by securing another Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge feature for a second year running.
"Itβs a prestigious event," says Hallett. "Weβre always at the pointy end there at Murray Bridge and Iβd like to add my name to that winners list again."
Previous winners Matt Egel Racing and Ryan Jones will also be vying for the honour of, once again, taking the top step on the podium come race-end on Saturday night. One driver looking to add his name to the winners list for the first time is Tasmanian young gun Jock Goodyer Racing, who already has plenty of feature wins at Murray Bridge Speedway and will no doubt be one to watch.
Lisa Walker Racing is back after a short pause in her racing career. Her return in the S4 Action Line Marking/Devil Race Karts machine will be a welcome sight to Sprintcar fans across Australia.
Making his debut in the class will be Brad Vaughan Racing, who recently purchased a complete, turn-key package from Luke Dillon. Vaughan is no stranger to dirt racing β his father, Steve, spent many years in the Super Sedans ranks, while Brad has competed in Wingless Sprints for the past few seasons. Now, the Super 2 racer is ready to hit the clay way.
Sprintcars will kick off the long weekend at Murray Bridge Speedway for the Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge on Saturday night, backed with a second night of Sprintcar racing on Sunday for the Sprintcar Stampede, paying a $10,000-to-win prize.
Cars hit the track from 6 p.m. Tickets are available via the Murray Bridge Speedway website.
