Premier Speedway is saddened to hear of the passing of Leigh Barry Mugavin this week.

Leigh was a valued competitor who raced at Premier Speedway over many years and was a familiar face within our racing community. His passion for speedway and his contribution to the sport will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

On behalf of the Premier Speedway Board, management, officials, volunteers, competitors and supporters, we extend our sincere condolences to Leigh's family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.

Leigh's presence at the track will be greatly missed, but the memories he created and the friendships he formed throughout his years in speedway will live on.

Rest in peace, mate 🏁

👀 MAX’S RACE 2026 will pay $20,005 to win!!

More details will follow soon, but as announced at our end of season presentation evening last night, Max’s Race will pay $20,005 to the winner on December 12 this year.

2026/27 SEASON RACE DATES 🏁

Speedway fans, start your engines!
Premier Speedway Warrnambool is excited to release our 2026/27 season calendar, packed with high-octane racing, feature events, and unforgettable nights under the lights at Sungold Stadium – Home of the Classic!

The season will officially kick off on October 31st with the opening round of the SRA Sprintcar Series along with Wingless Sprints.

A host of blue-ribbon events will headline the season, with the likes of Max's Race, Speedweek, ARB International Cup, The Classic, Victorian Sprintcar Title & The Easter Sprintcar Trail.

We have added some additional marquee races to the calendar this upcoming season, these being -
Battle of the "BOOL" for 410 Sprintcars
Shipwreck Shootout for 360/LS Sprintcars
Super Sedan Showdown for Super Sedans
Wild West Wingless 1000 for Wingless Sprints.
The Supp Regs for these events will be released at a later date, but this is very exciting for our club and these classes.

The 54th Flying Horse Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be held from the 22nd to the 24th January 2027, paying a record $75,000 to win.

We have also added "RETRO NIGHT" on Friday March 12th for the Victorian Sprintcar Title, with the intent to go old school and encourage teams to design a throwback scheme. Details for this event will also be released at a later date.

The upcoming season is shaping to be another incredible season at Premier Speedway, & we can't wait for it to begin.
