Another successful transformer replacement completed by the team, with all works delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to the client. ⚡

This project involved:
🔹 Transformer replacement and changeover
🔹 Steel supports design and manufacture
🔹 1 x 3C SWA/PILC to 3 x 1C XLPE HV cable joint installation
🔹 Cable testing and verification
🔹 Protection engineering setting updates
🔹 Secondary injection testing and protection verification
🔹 Earthing system upgrade
🔹 Final commissioning and return to service

It was great to see the strong coordination between EDC Expert Group ((1) EDC Expert Group: Overview | LinkedIn, the LAI Energy Services field team, LAI Steel team and protection engineering personnel to deliver a seamless outcome from shutdown through to energisation.
Projects like these highlight the importance of detailed planning, technical capability, and collaboration across all stages of delivery. From the transformer changeover and cable jointing works through to protection verification and commissioning, the team worked together to ensure the site was safely returned to service with minimal impact to the client.
Always rewarding to see critical infrastructure back online and operating as intended after a solid shutdown effort.

A simple conversation, checking in on a mate, or taking the time to listen can make a real difference. Mental health matters every day, and creating a culture where people feel supported, respected, and comfortable speaking up is something we should all continue to encourage.

This project involved system commissioning, HVAC and climate control, fire detection and protection, and full electrical system integration — all brought together through strong collaboration and attention to detail from everyone involved.

Our Women’s Morning Tea at the Victoria facility was a lovely way for the team to come together, get to know each other better, and enjoy some time away from the usual day-to-day.

Engineered for performance. Built for reliability

Our team has successfully delivered a 33kV Switchroom and Control Building, designed and manufactured to support critical high-voltage infrastructure.
28.3 metres long | 4.2 metres wide
This project was completed as a fully integrated solution, incorporating electrical systems, security, fire detection, and HVAC — all brought together through detailed engineering and in-house expertise.
From switchgear installation to protection panels, cabling, testing, and commissioning, every stage was executed with precision and a strong focus on safety and quality.
