A client recently asked me to help her buy a used car.

I explained that I don’t broker used cars. There are just too many variables, every car has a different history, condition and story, and ultimately you really do need to go and see it, touch it and drive it yourself.

Her reason for buying used was pretty simple:

She wanted to save some money compared with buying new.

Fair enough.

So off she went.

Three weeks later, she came back to me.

She’d spent four Saturdays looking at cars, plus hours after work researching, making enquiries, comparing vehicles and test driving.

And she was over it.

In her next call to me she asked, “Can I just pay you an hourly rate to find a used car for me?”

I still had to say no — but I asked her a different question:

“Forget about my hourly rate for a minute. What’s YOUR hourly rate?”

She’s a business owner with a young family.

If she ends up spending 40–50 hours trying to save a few thousand dollars on the purchase price of a car… what has that saving actually cost her?

At $100 an hour, 50 hours is $5,000.

And how do you put a price on four Saturdays with your family?

That’s when buying a brand-new car starts looking a little different.

🚙 THE PAJERO IS BACK... Almost!

After a five-year absence, one of Australia’s best-known four-wheel-drive names is returning and there is already plenty of excitement around it.

Australian pricing for the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero has now been confirmed, starting from $68,490 plus on-road costs.

The new Pajero is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms from December 2026, with four models available:

🚙 GLS five-seat — $68,490
🚙 GLS seven-seat — $69,990
🚙 Exceed seven-seat — $79,990
🚙 GSR seven-seat — $84,990

All models will come with a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, Mitsubishi’s Super Select II four-wheel-drive system, low range, a rear differential lock and 3,500kg towing capacity.

In other words, this isn’t simply another family SUV wearing the Pajero badge. Mitsubishi has brought it back as a proper, capable four-wheel drive.

For anyone currently considering a Ford Everest, Isuzu MU-X or Toyota Prado (and who can wait until December) the seven-seat Pajero GLS could be a very interesting addition to the shortlist.

With genuine off-road capability, 3,500kg towing capacity and competitive pricing, the new Pajero is shaping up as a serious contender in the large SUV market.

Meet John and Wendy, and their brand new Hyundai Kona Hybrid. ❤️

John and Wendy were ready to move on from their Nissan Qashqai. With premium fuel and running costs starting to add up, they had already done their homework and decided the Kona Hybrid was the right next car for them, and it happens to be one of the most popular cars I help clients buy!

A huge celebration today for a client who has just taken delivery of his brand‑new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Cruiser, right in time for the start of his new job.

He reached out needing help fast. He’d just resigned from his role, was about to lose his work car, and needed a replacement within two weeks. My first thought was, “Yes, absolutely! we can make this happen.” Then I asked what he was hoping to get into… and when he said RAV4 Hybrid Cruiser, my jaw dropped. He couldn’t have picked a more challenging car to secure on a two‑week timeline.

But if there’s one thing we love, it’s a challenge.

We got straight to work across our network of Toyota dealers. Every dealer came back with the same answer: 3–4 months factory order. Exactly what I expected and exactly what he didn’t have time for.

Then one dealer called with a glimmer of hope. They thought they could organise an interstate swap and have the car delivered within the two‑week window. And they did. 😉

He was over the moon. I was over the moon. And on his very first week in his new job, he’s driving his brand‑new RAV4 Cruiser.

Celebrating Michelle, Jonah and their gorgeous pooch Bruce on their brand new Toyota Yaris Cross.

Michelle came to She’s Car Curious a few months ago thinking she would soon need to dive into the used car search for a Yaris. She had not started yet, but she could already see what was ahead.
