Where do I start with this one??

Gareth had been suffering with a fuel gauge that was constantly inaccurate for 5 or so years in his evo x. One peek inside the fuel tank and the cause was dead obvious, another specialist workshop had poorly executed an active siphon kit causing the level sender float to get hung up on copius amounts of fuel hose and wiring that plain and simple didn’t need to be there.

The active siphon kit and modified factory hanger were removed from the fuel tank to make way for a evo x drop in hanger assembly and the DW300 pump.

The way the ethanol content sensor was positioned on top of the fuel tank caused the factory hard plastic feed line to Kink over potentially leading to catastrophic consequences later down the track, so the decision was made to redo everything but the factory hardlines in Speedflow for reliability.

A Speedflow inline filter was added to the engine bay and a neat little bracket made up that sits just off the ecu bracket.

Long story short, make sure you understand what is getting installed in to your car and understand why it is getting installed. I see the advantage of an active siphon kit for an all out track car but for a street car it’s just not needed imo..

A massive to congratulations to Nigel and team for taking out first place honours in challenge class in the over the weekend.

This rexy has been running one of our stage 1 engine packages for a few years now and is still taking everything Nigel can throw at it (which is a lot) 😂.

Hopefully he green lights an ecu and sensor package upgrade in the future to take the car even further.

Top effort mate 👍👍

Evo x FE in for its yearly service by time (definitely not by kms 😂😂).

A prime example of how to do a 10 right in my books 👌.

Always a pleasure looking after Lenny.

Nate’s car out the door today after updating a few dated items.

-swapped the dw300 fuel pump from the surge tank into the main tank for lift pump duty’s, the old in-tank dw300 was retired as it had passed its used by date sitting in ethanol for the past 5-6 years.

A brand new BR540 pump was adapted to suit the raceworks hanger assembly and installed into the surge tank. Upon testing the new pump the relay died which prompted a rewire for the new fuel pump setup in the boot section.

- A Bosch fuel pressure sensor was also installed, configured and a nice little harness made up to feed data back to the Haltech platinum pro ecu.

A new wideband sensor will be fitted up later in the week to complete the job.

With around an extra 100kws over his last car to play with Nate will have fun with this one.

Thanks again mate for choosing Tarmac.

Nate’s 01 paying us a visit for a couple of small issues to check over.

Can’t wait to see this borgwarner efr, 6 speed equipped machine taking on legends in a few weeks time.

After fresh genuine Subaru bearings and seals it has a new lease on life.

Emanuel’s Aus delivered evo 8 was in over the weekend getting the old original 5 speed box that kept popping out of second gear swapped over with a recently refreshed 5 speed box.

I still struggle with the indicator stalk being on the left hand side of these old girls 😂😂.

Excuse the lack of updates lately as I’ve been slowly trying to get through the backlog of work…

Tiffany’s mint RS40 in for a minor service today. This particular example has to be the cleanest one I’ve seen with a low 80,000km on the clock.

Serviced using the best and Subaru genuine filters.
