I have had many enquires regarding CBT&A (logbook) training mention that other (VORT) instructors are telling them that logbook training is ending soon, and that there is no point starting down that pathway due to this “fact”. I would like to throw a bit of clarity on this information. Firstly, the department responsible for driver licensing are reviewing the process and are in the process of changing the system that has been operating since the early 1990’s of having Authorised instructors conduct all drivers licence testing or assessment, and intend to have “official Government Assessor’s” be the only people able to test and issue a drivers licence. The process is underway, however it does not yet have a clear implementation timeline and the earliest date spoken of would be around March 2027, with other estimates being later, around July 2027. What this means is that both CBT and VORT training will be rolled into a CBT based training system and a Government Authority will conduct the test. The real truth is that VORT and CBT will be replaced, and a new system based on the CBT training will become the standard. So the reality is, if you would like to train for your P licence using CBT&A logbook system, there is still plenty of time to do so and it is untrue at this stage to say it is ending soon. I meet many parents and students who prefer the comprehensive training and assessing that CBT&A offers, and until we hear more, it is very much a viable style of training. So if you would like to start give me a call on 0432845654 and we can begin training with more than enough time to complete any training long before these changes are going to take place
