A NEW CHAPTER — OZ BALI OLD SCHOOL CARS BECOMES SORD PERFORMANCE
Hi everyone,
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but there’s a very good reason for that.
Over the past few months, I’ve been working behind the scenes to plan the next chapter for the business, and I’m very excited to finally share what’s happening.
Oz Bali Old School Cars is moving forward — and we are rebranding as SORD PERFORMANCE.
We are currently working through the final stages of securing a lease on a new workshop, which will take the business into the next stage of its development.
The biggest change is that we will be building our cars in-house.
No more outsourcing the builds to contractors.
Apart from specialised interior work, which will continue to be handled by an interior specialist I trust completely, the rest of the work will be carried out inside our own workshop under my direct supervision.
I will personally be involved in many of the builds, and I want to bring the cars to the standard that I have always wanted to achieve.
A COMPLETELY NEW DIRECTION.
There is a LOT of work ahead.
When we first take possession, the place is going to require an enormous amount of cleaning, preparation and renovation. Realistically, there could be a month or two of hard work before we are ready to properly organise the workshop and start building cars.
But that's okay.
This is a long-term project, and we're prepared to put in the work.
We are not selling the business anymore.
We are staying, we are rebuilding, and we are moving forward.
BUILDING CARS THE RIGHT WAY
One of the biggest changes with Sord Performance will be transparency.
I want our customers to see everything.
You won't see a car in bare metal one day and suddenly see it sitting in primer the next without knowing what happened in between.
You will see the process.
Bare metal.
Panel preparation.
Rust repairs.
Welding.
Bodywork.
Priming.
Painting.
Assembly.
Mechanical work.
Interior.
Final detailing.
No secrets. No shortcuts. No hiding things under primer.
Before a customer's car goes to paint, I want the customer to have the opportunity to come to the workshop and inspect the body themselves and approve it.
When the car is completed, running, detailed and ready for shipping, I want the customer to come back and inspect the finished vehicle.
I'll even put the car on the hoist so they can inspect underneath it.
If the customer isn't 100% happy, the car doesn't get shipped.
That's the standard I want Sord Performance to be known for.
A NEW BRAND
I've spent an enormous amount of time designing the new Sord Performance brand.
The logo alone has gone through countless ideas, designs and revisions, and I believe we've finally found the identity that represents where we're heading.
And we're taking that identity across the entire merchandise range.
T-shirts.
Caps.
Stubby holders.
Keyrings.
The first merchandise run should hopefully be going to print within the next Ccouple months.
Every customer who orders a build through Sord Performance will receive a merchandise pack with their completed car — including a cap, T-shirt, stubby holder and keyring — packed inside the vehicle when it is delivered to Australia.
We'll also have merchandise available at the workshop once we're up and running.
THE GRAND OPENING
Once the workshop is renovated and ready, we're going to have an official Sord Performance grand opening.
There'll be a barbecue, drinks, cars and plenty of people around, and anyone who happens to be in Bali at the time will be welcome to come down and check out the new workshop.
I'd love to see some familiar faces there.

We're also going to connect the business to YouTube and document the builds properly.
I want you to see the entire process from beginning to end.
You'll see the good, the bad, the messy workshop days, the problems we encounter and, most importantly, how we solve them.
I'll be sharing regular updates here as well, including footage from day one when we first get into the building.
And believe me...
It's a mess. 😂
There is a LOT of work to do before we can start building cars.
But that's where the journey begins.

Finally, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has stuck with Oz Bali Old School Cars over the past three years.
Thank you to everyone who has followed the page, supported us, shared our builds and trusted us with your cars.
I also want to apologise to the customers who weren't happy with the quality of previous builds. Some of the decisions I made regarding contractors in the past didn't deliver the standard I expected, and I've taken responsibility for that.
Those arrangements are now behind us.
Sord Performance is a fresh start.
This business will be 100% owned and operated by me, and the direction, standards and quality control will be under my direct supervision.
The past is the past.
Now we're focused on the future.
I've always wanted to build these cars the way I believe they should be built, and now I'm finally putting the structure in place to make that happen.
There is a huge amount of work ahead of us, but I'm incredibly excited about what's coming.
Oz Bali Old School Cars is still here.
We're not going anywhere.
We're becoming Sord Performance.
And we're just getting started.
