I cannot quite express in words how extraordinary the women who make up Women in MotorSport are.
Every single one of them is a leader - in Motorsport and in the other professions they undertake.
They are relentlessly supportive of one another, constantly making opportunities for one another and backing each other in.
They are making it utterly clear to one another, to girls and women with an interest in Motorsport, to boys and men in Motorsport and to everyone that if a woman wants to drive fast on the track, officiate, administer, engineer, design or repair cars, commentate or do anything else in Motorsport that there is a place for them.
And in doing so, they are shifting understanding about all of the places that women belong because when we celebrate and include women for their strength, talent and skill in places from which they may have previously been excluded, we change how women and the roles they can play are seen - in Motorsport and everywhere.
This remarkable group of women invited myself and my beautiful friend Ilka to speak at and join them for their annual dinner.
I left inspired, empowered and like I’d just made a stack of new friends - and like I might just be able to take to the track too.
Thank you Georgie, Lisa and Lisi for organising this outstanding event and for including us.
Really looking forward to all that we can do together to advance change - on and off the track.
