After 30+ years my orange Es**rt panelvan finally hits the streets again and we attempt to drive it home. My plan is to attempt to get it to Small Ford Show 2026 but we are cutting it tight on time. Bringing the orange Mk1 Es**rt panelvan one step closer to life.
After decades off the road, today’s video is all about the final touches, last‑minute checks, and taking it for a proper test drive to see if it’s finally ready to attempt the drive home.

I go through the prep work, the little fixes, the tuning tweaks, and the things you only discover once the wheels actually turn under their own power. This van has been a long-term revival project, and every step gets us closer to seeing it back on the road where it belongs.

After 30+ years the engine in my orange MK1 Es**rt panelvan gets a service. The engine was given every opportunity to be revived with a deep clean consisting of being completely filled with diesel and then let to soak for two days. The cooling system was also flushed and the water pump was replaced. It's looking more promising as more milestones are achieved with being able to drive it home. We're getting close now.

This would have to have been the most difficult part of this project yet. Nothing was working from rusted parts breaking to things just not going my way. Tantrums were had. Finally got the brakes working and we're now one huge step forwards to attempting to drive it home.

Finally after what felt like forever I finally got all the electricals on the orange panelvan working. Wasn't easy considering everything was 50yrs old and rusty. Now we're one step closer to looking at driving it home

New video now ready for your viewing pleasure. I dig into repairing the fuel system and the cooling system. Cooling system is cleaned the best I can and now has actual coolant in it. The fuel system I have no idea why the fuel tank was ever disconnected but its been cleaned out and reconnected. The rusty panelvan now runs off its own fuel tank and cooled by its own cooling system. We're one step closer to attempting to drive it home.

I dig deep in attempting to clean out the cooling system as much as I could with the little amount of resources I had at hand. With a flush of water and vine...
