🇦🇱 VISITING ALBANIA? DON’T MAKE THESE MISTAKES! 🚗☀️
Albania may look small on the map, but there are a few things you should know before planning your trip. Save this post for later! 👇
1️⃣ Trying to see the whole country in a few days
Albania has a lot to offer, but trying to fit everything into 3–4 days can leave you spending most of your trip in the car. Plan your route realistically and give yourself enough time to actually enjoy each place.
2️⃣ Only visiting Ksamil 🏖️
Yes, Ksamil is beautiful — but Albania is much more than Ksamil! Don’t miss places like Himarë, Dhërmi, Gjirokastër, Berat, the Albanian Riviera and the mountains.
3️⃣ Not renting a car 🚗
Public transport is surely cheaper ,but with a car you 'll have more freedom to choose where to go, stop along the way and discover places that are harder to reach by bus.
4️⃣ Underestimating driving times ⏰
A journey that looks short on the map can take much longer than expected, especially on winding mountain and coastal roads or during busy summer traffic. Always leave some extra time between destinations.
5️⃣ Expecting everything to work like Western Europe
Albania is developing quickly, but infrastructure, parking, roads and some services may not always work exactly as you’re used to. A little patience and planning can make your trip much smoother.
6️⃣ Visiting only during July & August ☀️
July and August are beautiful, but they’re also the busiest months. If you have flexibility, September and October can offer warm weather, beautiful beaches and a more relaxed atmosphere.
7️⃣ Ignoring the mountains 🏔️
Albania isn’t only about beaches! The Albanian Alps, Theth and Valbonë offer incredible scenery and a completely different side of the country. Definitely consider adding the mountains to your itinerary.
8️⃣ Not planning your route before renting a car 🗺️
Organize your destinations by area so you don’t waste time driving back and forth. A good route can save you time, fuel and unnecessary driving.
