Edge lifting is the most common failure mode in PPF installations and it is almost always caused by improper edge preparation, inadequate adhesion or environmental stress on untucked edges 🫣

On high quality installations edges are tucked under panels (into door jambs, around headlight housings, into bumper grilles) so no film edge is visible from normal viewing angles.

Rushed installers leave edges exposed, which looks cheap and collects dirt!

Edges reveal installer skill more than any other area. Cuts should follow natural body lines with smooth transitions between panels. Where possible edges should be wrapped or tucked (not visibly lifting or peeling).

When you are assessing a PPF installation, on a car you own or one you are considering,run your fingers along the door jambs, the bonnet lip, the bumper edges. The film should be invisible and flush. If you can feel or see it lifting at any point moisture and debris are already working their way underneath.

Invisible edges are more about patient craftsmanship than high speed application…

At ARMotors we tuck every edge that can be tucked. Every panel is re-inspected under bright lighting before the car leaves. That is the standard every car gets.

Not all PPF survives a UAE summer. Some yellows within months. Some lifts at the edges & lets moisture in underneath. Some simply stops protecting the paint it was supposed to be protecting.

What makes STEK genuinely different starts at the molecular level.

Rather than simply coating the surface of the film, STEK molecularly bonds fluorine particles directly into the TPU.

Those dense fluorine molecular bonds prevent dirt, bug splatter & bird droppings from penetrating the film (which is one of the primary causes of yellowing & discolouration in lesser films over time).

The result is a film that stays cleaner, resists chemical attack & maintains its clarity far longer than surface-coated alternatives.

The TPU base itself gives the film high elasticity and puncture resistance - and is what allows the heat-activated self-healing to work. Swirl marks & minor scratches disappear in Dubai sunlight. No heat gun. No effort.

Visually STEK delivers a deep rich gloss finish on the DYNOshield (or a premium satin or matte finish depending on the variant you choose). Either way the optical clarity is exceptional with minimal orange peel & genuine depth that enhances your paint rather than dulling it.

Most people find out what Dubai summer does to their car in September…

…but by that point, it’s always more expensive than it needs to be! 😬

After over 18 years of working in luxury & performance cars in the UAE, we see the same pattern every single year.

Cars that were fine in February, cars that had no warning lights & cars that felt completely normal to drive…coming to our workshop from August onwards with problems that started building silently in May! 😱

During our summer, your AC runs at full capacity every single journey, your engine oil degrades faster than your service interval accounts for & your battery is under more stress than any other point in the year!

Not to mention your tyres that are sitting on surfaces hot enough to accelerate structural degradation you cannot see from the outside 🛞

None of this happens dramatically, it all happens gradually & quietly until something gives!

✅No electronic aids. No digital filters.

Nothing between the driver and the road. Just mechanical honesty, immediate throttle response & a chassis that communicates everything.

This car is a faithful recreation of Röhrl’s own personal 911 ST - built to his exact specification and philosophy. The car he once described after just 3km as the moment he realised a light Porsche is a completely different world of driving.

It came to ARMotors for a clutch assembly replacement. Gearbox removed entirely. Pressure plate replaced. Everything inspected while we had access. Reassembled correctly.

A car built without compromise deserves to be worked on the same way.
