When to use a higher old grade on your Mazda?
5W-30 vs 5W-40 on an older abused😂 SH01 engine commonly applied on Mazda CX-5, CX-7, Atenza, Axela etc.
Manufacturer recommended oil grade is 5W-30, there are times pamunouya kuWorkshop tokuudzai kuti imboshandisai 5W-40 imi mokakavara but mamhanyire enyu, zera reEngine dzenyu, maTempretures edu, mashindisire enyu (you drive them like they're sport cars, high accelerations, high speeds for long in hot climates), matakurire enyu mombe yese muBoot, apa dzinza rese riri mimota 1, saka imboshandisai 5W-40. Why? 5W-40 is recommended for high-performance, high-temperature, or heavy-duty load scenarios as it maintains a thicker and stronger protective film than 5W-30.
Why 40 is better than 30 for high heat/load:
Film Strength: A 40-micron film provides a thicker and stronger barrier, which is essential for protecting against heavy loads or high-stress environments.
Heat Resistance: A 40-micron film often offers better structural integrity in high-temperature settings compared to a thinner 30-micron film, which may fail faster.
Durability: The thicker option is more effective at resisting mechanical damage and maintaining its protective layer under demanding conditions.
In conclusion!
Both are synthetic oils with identical cold-start flow, but 5W-40 maintains a stronger oil film under intense heat. Mukandipikisa ndokurovai! 😂
