Which Engine oil do you use?

The main difference between 5W-40 and 10W-40 engine oils is their viscosity rating.

The "W" in both designations stands for "winter" or "winter weight," indicating the oil's viscosity at low temperatures.

The number preceding the "W" (5 or 10) represents the oil's viscosity at low temperatures (Winter):

5W oil is thinner and flows more easily in cold temperatures (below -18°C or 0°F) than 10W oil.
The number after the "W" (40) represents the oil's viscosity at high temperatures (above 100°C or 212°F):

Both 5W-40 and 10W-40 oils have the same viscosity at high temperatures, indicating they provide the same level of lubrication and protection in warm conditions.

In summary:

5W-40 oil is thinner in cold temperatures and more suitable for extreme cold climates or high-performance engines.

10W-40 oil is thicker in cold temperatures and more suitable for older engines or those that don't require the extra protection of a lower viscosity oil.

It's important to check your vehicle's owner's manual to see which viscosity is recommended by the manufacturer.

TIPS OF THE DAY

1) How to Unlock Your Car If Your Key Fob Battery Dies?

- Your Key Fob probably has a “Key” built into it and it is on the ring that a regular key ring can hang from and on your Fob there is a “Latch” on the Fob that releases the “Door Key” and if you do not know how to access this key, you had better Google How to Access it Right Now…

2) How to Start Your Car If Your Key Fob Battery Dies?

- The secret is to hold the Key Fob right next to the Start Button and press the start button (with the Brake Pedal Pressed) and the car should start normally.
