2027 BMW X5.
The 2027 BMW X5 (chassis code G65) debuts with the brand's Neue Klasse design, offering combustion, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and the first-ever battery-electric (iX5) options. The lineup features hidden touch-sensitive door handles, a standard power liftgate, and starts deliveries with traditional engines in late 2026, followed by electrified models in early 2027.

Powertrain & Performance.
The X5 lineup provides a wide range of options includes M60e PHEV and a new fully electric variant

- iX5 60 xDrive (EV): Uses dual motors for a combined 578 hp and 593 lb-ft of torque, hitting 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in about 4.4 seconds. It houses a massive 141 kWh net battery pack, boasting an estimated electric range of up to 525 miles (845 km) on the WLTP cycle. It also supports up to 460 kW DC fast charging.

- X5 M60e (PHEV): Pairs a 3.0-liter turbo inline-6 with an electric motor to generate 603 hp and 800 Nm of torque. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and provides roughly 44 miles (71 km) of pure electric EPA range.

- X5 40 xDrive: A mild-hybrid 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 producing 394 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque.

Dimensions & Design
The new X5 has grown, now measuring 196.8 inches (4,999 mm) long, 78.7 inches (1,999 mm) wide, and around 68.6 inches (1,742 mm) tall, with a wheelbase of 119.5 inches. This wheelbase increase yields more second-row legroom, though the vehicle is exclusively offered as a 5-seater.
- Boot Space: Mild-hybrid models offer 625 liters, while the plug-in and full hybrids feature a smaller 525 liters to accommodate battery components.
- Wheels: Ranging from 21- to 23-inch alloys.
