When insurance says “Total Loss”, it doesn’t mean you should settle for less.
Recently, our team assisted a client whose 2004 Toyota Hilux was declared a total loss by the insurer. The retail value was listed at only R95 700 – but after a proper market-based valuation, our research showed that similar vehicles were selling for between R185 000 and R198 900 on the open market.
We prepared a full independent assessor report, attached market comparisons, and documented additional extras (canopy, nudge bar, side steps, etc.) — giving our client the leverage to negotiate a fair payout instead of accepting the insurer’s low offer.
That’s what we do best at A1 Assess — accurate, independent, and defensible vehicle valuations that protect your true asset value.
If you’re facing a similar situation or think your insurer’s offer is below market, get an expert second opinion today.
