Behind the Build takes you inside the journey of the Tshwane University of Technology TUT students who brought SunChaser 4 to life, overcoming engineering challenges, solving complex problems and turning ambitious ideas into reality.

Supported by Ford South Africa, the project is helping future engineers gain hands-on experience while showcasing the innovation and talent being developed right here in South Africa.

As the challenge continues, SunChaser 4 remains in the lead.

The Tshwane University of Technology TUT SunChaser 4 team, proudly supported by Ford, is currently tackling Day 6 of the Sasol Solar Challenge 2026 and heading toward the finish line in Paarl.

Still leading the competition, these talented student engineers are giving it everything they've got to hold onto the number one spot.
