We brought the Ferrari community together for an exclusive viewing of the 24 Hours of Le Mans start, sharing the excitement, passion and drama of one of the most iconic endurance races in the world.

Testarossa, a name linked to undeniable heritage.

The Ferrari Testarossa, Italian for "red head," derives its legendary heritage from the red-painted valve covers first used on Ferrari's championship-winning 1950s race cars.

Ferrari’s pursuit of performance, innovation, and unmistakable design all culminate in one name.These two iconic models are separated by decades but united by the same spirit. Testarossa has evolved, but the passion behind it remains unchanged.

Technical Tuesday: The ‘849’ in Ferrari 849 Testarossa is actually a technical specification hidden in the name.

The 8 refers to the car’s eight-cylinder twin-turbo V8 engine. The 49 refers to the displacement of each cylinder, 499 cubic centimetres per cylinder. Multiply that across all eight cylinders and you get Ferrari’s 4.0-litre hybrid powertrain.

That powertrain produces a combined 1,050 horsepower, making the 849 Testarossa the most powerful production Ferrari ever built.

So the name isn’t marketing, it’s a coded reference to the engine at the heart of Ferrari’s new flagship.
