Well to close off the trip. We, Robyn, Frans and I arrived back home today on the bikes. Did 734kms today. Was a bit of a push but very enjoyable. Lizzy is very sore but nothing broken. I am quite bruised and dented in places but no real pain. We really got off lightly. When I got home, Liz had already started planning the next bike trip. No stopping her

Left Boknes at 06h00 this morning. 20kms north of East London a courier van hit our bike and sent us and the bike crashing into a barrier. Liz and I did not get any broken bones although I think she might have cracked a rib or 2. The bike is not to badly damaged. Will be able to fix it overnight and carry on tomorrow. Liz however is going to fly back. Riding from here with the pain she has in her ribs will be unbearable.

So today's ride had a bit of a bad part in. We had a issue with a truck and a pothole at the same time. Front rim got a bad hit event though I opened up and pulled back. Good thing we did not wipe-out. Anyway got safely to our destination. Tomorrow is the real start of the trip as Frans and Robyn join us. Saw some stunning church buildings in Heidelberg.

So today marks the start of our next adventure. Robyn and Frans are riding the 2007 R1200GS adventure, Liz and I are in the 2006 Standard R1200GS. We will be doing about 500kmzs a day. We will be going to Boknes in the Cape near Kenton on Sea. F&R have already left this morning and are headed to Heidelberg. Liz and I will be riding up to Middleburg to day then Heidelberg tomorrow. Sunday will be our 1st 500kms together. We will post pics.
