THE FOREIGN NATIONALS (PAKISTANS AND OTHER) TAKE KGOSHI LETSIRI TO COURT

The foreign nationals of Pakistans and somalians who were staying at Ga Phahla Village in Sekhukhune have taken Kgoshi Letsiri Phahla to the Nebo Magistrate's Court.

This comes after Kgoshi Letsiri Phahla told the foreign nationals to leave his village.

Phahla said: "This country has lost grip of its sovereignty, together with its skewed justice system to permit illegal Pakistanis and Somalis to issue orders to me on our land as a Native South African.

In any event, to me it's going to be a walk in the park, and it's been long since I embarrassed an attorney in a court of law. This notice of motion is nothing but a farce and I'm going to crush them in this foolish game."

TWO SUSPECTS ESCAPE FROM LAWFUL CUSTODY AT WATERVAL POLICE STATION IN LIMPOPO

Police in Waterval in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for awaiting-trial prisoners who escaped from lawful custody at Waterval Police Station in Vhembe District during the early hours of Thursday, 15 October 2026.

The escape was discovered this morning when a police officer conducting routine patrols near the cells heard calls for assistance. Upon inspection, it was established that two suspects had escaped after cutting through the burglar bars and iron grills on top of the cell balcony.

The escapees have been identified as Tafara Zangarai (30) and Ndalamo Nemakhavhani (35). Both were in custody for separate cases of robbery with aggravating circumstances reported at Waterval.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Jan Scheepers, has ordered that no stone be left unturned to rearrest the escapees and investigate the circumstances surrounding their escape.

CONSTITUTIONAL COURT RULES IN ANC'S FAVOUR AND ORDERS IEC TO INCLUDE 181 CANDIDATES ACROSS SIX MUNICIPALITIES AHEAD OF LOCAL ELECTIONS

The Constitutional Court has ruled in favour of the African National Congress (ANC), ordering the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to include 181 affected councillor candidates and the party's lists on ballot papers for the 4 November local government elections. The court granted the ANC leave to appeal and upheld its appeal against an earlier Electoral Court decision.

The dispute involved six municipalities across the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Free State. The ANC uploaded candidate details and paid deposits before the 28 August deadline but failed to click the final submission button on the IEC's online system. The ruling reverses the previous exclusion, allowing the ANC to contest the affected municipalities.
