Before 1970, hitting the brakes hard often meant skidding out of control. Then ABS arrived. Sensors detect when a wheel is about to lock up and pulse the brakes many times per second, so you can keep steering while you stop.

Let's be honest — that R800-R1,200/month insurance premium feels like "extra money" you don't have, until the day it isn't.
Think about it:
🔸 One hijacking = your car AND your payments, gone!

🔸 One taxi accident (not your fault, but try proving it) = thousands in repairs out of your own pocket.

🔸 One hailstorm = a "written off" car you're still paying instalments on.

Here's the part nobody tells you: if your car is financed, you're still legally on the hook for the full loan even if the car is stolen or wrecked. No insurance = no payout = you paying off a car that no longer exists. 💸
Comprehensive cover isn't a luxury — it's the thing standing between "unlucky day" and "financial disaster."
Do the math: a few hundred rand a month vs. losing your car AND still owing the bank. That's not a hard choice.
