🌍 What an unforgettable adventure!

Our Botswana tour has come to an end, and what an incredible journey it has been.

From the waterways of the Okavango Delta and the wildlife of Chobe National Park, to the mighty Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River, unforgettable campfire evenings, fascinating local communities, and countless wildlife encounters, every day brought new experiences and lasting memories.

Our final days took us across the vast Makgadikgadi Pans to the iconic La Kubu Island, where ancient baobab trees stand proudly in one of Botswana's most remarkable landscapes. Before heading home, we were privileged to end our adventure with a sighting of magnificent rhinos at Khama Rhino Sanctuary—a fitting finale to an unforgettable tour.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, shared in the adventure and helped make this journey so special. We hope the friendships made, the laughter shared and the memories created will stay with you for many years to come.

Before I share today's photos, a little explanation...

If you've noticed that our updates sometimes arrive a day or two later, it's because we're traveling through remote areas where Wi-Fi can be unreliable. Add to that the full days of sightseeing, game viewing and activities, followed by relaxing evenings around the campfire, and there's not always time to send photos straight away!

But don't worry—we're collecting plenty of wonderful memories, and we'll keep sharing them as they come in. Thank you for following our Botswana adventure with us! 🚙🌍

Everyone enjoyed Tsodilo Hills and a visit to the Crocodile Farm. Don't know why no photos taken there. Maybe they will still come. After visiting Tsodilo Hills Coenie took the group to do some curio shopping at a San Village near Tsodilo Hills.
One of the special moments on our journey was meeting members of the local San community near Tsodilo Hills. Visitors had the opportunity to browse beautiful handmade crafts, with colourful blankets spread out on the sand displaying bracelets, necklaces and other bead and seed creations.

🔥 One Fire. One Group. Countless Memories.

One of the traditions on all our tours is that there is only one campfire each evening.

Everyone gathers around the same fire to prepare their own meal, share stories from the day's adventures, enjoy plenty of laughter and simply relax beneath the African night sky.

Before long, people are moving from one conversation to another, sharing experiences, exchanging travel stories and getting to know one another. It's amazing how quickly strangers become friends around a campfire.

Some of the best memories of a tour aren't just the places you visit—they're the friendships and camaraderie that are built around a single fire at the end of each day. 🔥🚙✨

Our convoy gathered at Palm Afrique Lodge, sharing laughter around the campfire before heading north. The team has already enjoyed the hospitality of Island Safari Lodge in Kasane, and their first breathtaking view of the Okavango Delta in full flood.

Now the group is deep in the Kaziikini Community Concession, connected by Starlink even in the middle of nowhere. They’re out on game drives, with photos sure to follow later today. 🦁

The Kalahari Deluxe trip using only top-class lodges and camps offers a variety of unforgettable activities. Not only will well-known places in the Kalahari be visited, you can rest assured you will experience the true feeling of having the red sand of the Kalahari beneath your feet and running through your toes. This experience alone will bring you back to the Kalahari for more. The Kalahari Deluxe trip will start at the well-known 4-Star Molopo Lodge with three nights Camping/Glamping/Chalet accommodation at this amazing lodge, enjoying activities in the area and ending with a two night camp at the 4-Star Khamkiri Lodge & Camp, also offering a wide range of activities. Two of the remaining three nights will be spent at the well-known Riemvasmaak Hot Springs, a must visit destination when in the Kalahari. EXPERIENCE THE ANNUAL BIEDOUW VALLEY FLOWER EXTRAVAGANZA

WHEN: 8 – 10 AUGUST 2026.

The good rain that has fallen in Namakwaland, Tankwa Karoo and the greater Cederberg region will once again ensure an amazing wildflower extravaganza. The Biedouw Valley, nestled in the northern Cederberg, will burst into a kaleidoscope of colours, bidding farewell to the winter and welcome the warmth of spring and summer. This spectacular floral display is a must-see, offering a new experience each year. Just for good measure, no visit to the Biedouw Valley will be complete without driving at least a section of the Biedouw 4x4 trail and visit the amazing “Maalgate” in the Biedouw River and visit the lookout point on the plato surrounded by millions of orange Namakwa daisies.

Participants can choose between the traditional Cederberg 4x4 camping experience or comfortable farm house accommodation where you only need to bring your own towels, food and drinks.

HI-Q DURBANVILLE INVITES YOU TO JOIN LIKE-MINED PEOPLE ON A FUN-FILLED DAY IN ATLANTIS DUNES

VENUE – ATLANTIS DUNES near Melkbosstrand.

RENDEZVOUS – HI-Q DURBANVILLE. 36 Queen Street, Durbanville.

WHEN – SATURDAY 20 JUNE 2026.

TIME – 07h30 SHARP. Calculate your travelling time so as not to be late. Respect your fellow participants, don’t be late.

COST – FREE, FREE, FREE.

UPON ARRIVAL – Coffee/tea and rusks will be served.

HI-Q DURBANVILLE LUCKY DRAW – HI-Q Durbanville will supply prizes for the Lucky Draw to take place at their showroom after returning from Atlantis Dunes. Each participating vehicle will receive a prize.

CASH LUCKY DRAW – Each participating driver will be required to donate R200-00 cash into a kitty on the morning at the HI-Q showroom toward the cash Lucky Draw. A separate cash Lucky Draw for the three cash prizes will also be done at the showroom after the main Lucky Draw. See prizes below.

1st Prize – R1000-00 CASH.
2nd Prize – R500-00 CASH.
3rd Prize – R250-00 CASH.

PREREQUISITE FOR BOOKING: A prerequisite to qualify for the HI-Q Durbanville 4x4 Day is that all vehicles must have a minimum of two participating adults. More people are welcome in the vehicle to attend.

GENERAL: Activities for the day will be overseen by a seasoned 4x4 overland guide. After the morning welcome and a short briefing, we will depart for Atlantis Dunes. This will be followed by a boerewors braai, beers and cooldrinks at the HI-Q Durbanville showroom where the two Lucky Draws will take place. Only drivers present qualify for the Lucky Draw.

BOOKINGS: People wishing to participate need to contact Cederberg 4x4 via email at [email protected] or Cell/WhatsApp 083 675 6194 requesting a booking form. All bookings work on a first-come-first-serve basis. A maximum of 12 x vehicles will be accommodated on the day.
