The ContiSportAttack 4 was designed with the hypersport / sport enthusiast in mind and offers some next level technologies for us to examine.
Maximum grip, accuracy and easy handling are key attributes riders can expect with the ContiSportAttack 4 which features a more aggressive sport design without compromising wet traction. The tire’s new tread pattern includes a solid backbone for higher mileage and is optimized for lateral and circumferential forces, with a larger footprint for better grip in extreme lean angles. That coupled with the tire’s steel-belt construction technology, known as ZeroDegree, provides excellent stability at high speeds, while maintaining a comfortable, but sporty feel.
The ContiSportAttack 4 is engineered with multiple next-generation technologies to improve grip, including Continental’s premium BlackChili Sport-Compound which improves grip traction in wet or dry conditions.
It also has RainGrip compound technology that delivers superior wet grip yet maintaining higher mileage. This is made possible by specially-activated silica in the compound.
To top it off, Conti also added GripLimitFeedback to increase rider safety during extreme lean angles with timely feedback from the tires for a higher level of control at the limit. Grip is an obvious theme of the ContiSportAttack 4, but the engineers went a step further by ensuring that the break-in time of this tire is virtually zero by equipping it with TractionSkin, a revolutionary micro-rough tread surface and mold-coating technology, which eliminates the need for tire-release agents, and virtually puts an end to tire break-in.

The Continental ContiSportAttack 4 may have only been on the market for a few months, but it has already been recognised as one of the best hypersport tyres on the market after being declared the joint winner of a leading independent test!
Carried out by the experienced team at Motorrad Magazin of Austria, in conjunction with the experts at KTM, seven of the very latest hypersport tyres were put through their paces in a series of wet and dry test.
All tyres were blind tested on the new 790 Duke, fitted with KTM’s high tech monitoring equipment which was used to closely evaluate performance in a number of key areas.
After scoring 94 from a possible 100, the ContiSportAttack 4 was declared the joint winner of the test alongside the Bridgestone Battlax S22.
"Trust in extreme lean angles and the handling is excellent -> no tyre is better, no matter if the surface is dry or wet." - Motorrad Magazine
The performance criteria and ContiSportAttack 4 scores were as follows:
Cold Grip – 10/10
Warm Grip – 9/10
Warm Up – 10/10
Handling – 10/10
Feel on Cornering Limit – Front Tyre 10/10
Feel on Cornering Limit – Rear Tyre 10/10
Wet Grip – 10/10
Dry Braking – 9/10
Wet Braking – 9/10
Self Damping & Comfort – 7/10
Only one of the seven tyres on test would score higher than 7/10 for the self damping and comfort criteria.
With consistently high scores across the board, the ContiSportAttack 4 also beat the following tyres on test:
3rd – Pirelli Diablo Rosso III – 87/100
4th – Dunlop SportSmart Mk3 – 86/100
5th – Metzeler Sportec M9RR – 84/100
6th – Avon 3D Ultra Evo – 80/100
7th – Michelin Power 5 – 73/100
In particular, testers praised the tyre performance from cold, saying that it was “perfect in low temperatures” and “unbeatable in the category warm-up and handling”.
