Changing of the Guard.
As the calendar clicks over into a new year, it’s also a traditional time for change and the ALPCA Southern California Region is no stranger to change. Established in 1963, the SoCal Region has been actively serving collectors in the greater Southern California region for over 60 years. So, as we begin a new year, it’s time to initiate a couple new changes.
Firstly: after almost 10 years at the helm, I am passing the Presidential baton over to Evan Stanley, our long-time vice president, who has proven himself very capable of leading a new generation of collectors. As he takes over the helm, please give him and his new vice president, Paula Stanley, your continued support.
Secondly: The SoCal Region page will be moving to a new “address.” Once it’s up and running, I will send out a notice on this page with the new “address” and SoCal.1 will be archived.
As the year and my long reign as SoCal President ends in a few hours, I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you; both past and current members of SoCal and any of those outside the region who have passed through our “doors.” Your support for the past decade has been much appreciated. Remember, YOU are what this club is about. It’s the lifelong friendships. It’s the camaraderie. And maybe even it’s those little pieces of tin with letters and numbers on them. 2025 will be a great year and will mark my 50th year as a member of the SoCal region, having attended my first meet when I was fresh out of the Army in April 1975. See you all in Moreno Valley at our Feb 8th meet. In the meantime – Stay ALPCA SoCal Strong and extend a BIG SoCal Welcome to our new Prez and Vice Prez – Evan & Paula Stanley.
