We’re thrilled to share the arrival of Alba Bakery at Burrs of Tongue.

Alba Bakery will open softly this weekend, offering coffee and a considered selection of baking by Abby Hart.

This weekends a chance to meet the team and introduce our new bakery to our neighbours and community.

The bakery offering will grow thoughtfully over the coming months, so if you can’t visit this weekend there will be plenty of future opportunities.

This weekend we warmly invite you to come by, say hello to Abby and Caroline and share with us what you’d like to see in the space as we evolve.

Highly recommend a flick through this book, a collection of tales compiled and edited by the
pupils of nearby Farr Secondary School and their teacher Alan Temperley during the 60s and 70s…stories as recounted by residents of the villages up here.

Ranging from fairy tales and ghost stories to historical accounts of battles and shipwrecks, it’s a
fascinating and immersive read, all the more so for being told in the voices of people who actually lived here in this beautiful corner of Scotland. Definitely worth looking at!
