🏁 ATTICA RECAP:
This may be one of the most difficult recaps to share but we know there have been many questions about what happened over the weekend. Friday night at Attica looked perfect. Our car, driver, and crew were completely in sync and everyone’s performance in their job at the track was nothing short of outstanding. Logan qualified 4th in his group, which placed him on the pole for his heat. He led all 8 laps flawlessly and took the W in Heat 2. For redraw we got lucky and drew a 2, placing us in a very favorable starting position outside front row for the A main. The crew had the car dialed in all night for Logan and he felt in sync with the car and track.. we were all feeling that this was the night we see Victory Lane.
A cascade of events, some outside our control and some at the negligence of others, unfortunately caused the 3M to receive a DNF. During the line up lap for the feature, Logan experienced throttle issues. He asked to be taken to the work area prior to going green to get his allowed time for fixes by the crew. With the generous help from strangers and friends, they were able to resolve the issue under a minute and get Logan back out there. Understanding we would start now at the rear did not discourage him and we all felt confident he would easily climb back up positions for a top 10 finish based on the crew’s brilliant set up.
Somehow, we were denied re-entry onto the track despite being ready and well before going green. The lack of proper communication between officials blurred many lines that evening regarding rules, and the cost was our burden to carry. We lost an opportunity to regain momentum in Attica points with a double point event. While we sincerely appreciate and value all track officials for their hard work every week, we hope that in the future they correct discrepancies in both communication and consistent ex*****on of the rules according to their handbook. What we felt that night, and continue to feel, is something we hope no other team experiences. Accountability and apologies were appreciated from track leadership and we feel they will do better with the remainder of the season.
Racing isn’t about the money for our team; it’s about overcoming challenges, competing with the best, and performing to the best of our abilities while chasing Victory Lane. We are resilient and see this as just another challenge that will make us greater. Thank you to all our fans, fellow racers, and friends who came running over to advocate for us. We will see you in a few weeks back on the track! 🏁
