Hello Everyone, Just letting you know that St. John, and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands are well on the mend from the ravages of Cat 5 Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September, with many hands doing great things to get these beautiful islands back to the being beautiful again!

So don't hesitate to come on down and visit. Many beaches, shops and restaurants are open, power is on in Cruz Bay and Lineman are making great strides to bring power back island wide! The roads are safe, and many Inns and villas are available for rent.

If you are used to resort style vacations, why not try renting one of St. John's beautiful multi-million dollar villas with family and friends. There are many 2-16 bedroom villas, rentals jeeps, wonderful restaurants or private chefs, and concierge companies ready and willing to wait on you hand and foot....and of course our many St. John boat charter companies and captains eager to take you on a day (or term) charter where great memories will be made, lasting a lifetime.

Did I fail to mention the warm embrace of our residents, locals, bartenders and waitstaff?

Delicate situation.... SouthernHospitality has been asked by Daniel Benson to assist with the return of his father (Capt Richard Benson, S/V Athena) to the USVI From Tortola for funeral service preparation.

As of 7:30 pm 11/6/17 we have permission of the Benson Family to have an armada of boats, filled with friends of Capt Benson's Family to meet at the international boundary line and es**rt him to the USVI.

Probable route would be along the north shore of St. John, Cruz Bay, and Frank Bay.

Moment of Silence. Toast, and sendoff.

If for some reason you cannot get on a boat, and would like to participate.....go to Cruz Bay Landing for the updated information, and then go to Frank Bay Beach. We would go there for the toast and send off.

We would then continue to St Thomas to hand off Capt Benson to the funeral home personnel.

The date would be Tuesday November 7, 2017.

We recommend all interested in meeting at Cruz Bay Landing, around noon, staging there and then boarding boats at the National Park Dock and head out to meet Capt Richard Benson.

The time could change, and is based on information we have at this time.

As we wrap up our Thanksgiving week with an 8 day stretch we are thankful for so many who have chartered with us as guests and left as friends.

We have recently added new isinglass and seats and just yesterday completed the pre season prep including new logo and stenciling. New Stereo system, chart plotter (GPS) and 9kw generator on the horizon.

Thank you to all our friends who have made us an incredibly successful luxury charter company based out of St. John, USVI and of course many thanks to our Captains and Crew!

We hope to see you all back soon!

We recently had our first wedding aboard "Southern Hospitality" Congrats to the newlyweds and special thanks to Susan McGuire for officiating and Jamie Richardson for excellent photography.

Vows were exchanged on the bow at Hawksnest, near the "Mermaid's Chair", the smallest (14 feet) registered beach in the caribbean.
