Service was recently completed on this 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200S consignment bike with a full Termignoni exhaust system and it needed a final test ride. Tough job, but somebody had to do it, so I volunteered. One of the advantages of having our shop in Monrovia is that we are only a block off State Rt 39. Perfect for test rides.
The 2015 second gen Ducati Multistrada 1200 marked a major milestone for the Italian sport-tourer. It introduced the revolutionary 1198cc Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) engine, smooth electronics, and unparalleled versatile touring dynamics. While the stock DVT motor tamed the first gen classic, raw L-Twin chug at low RPMs, it sacrificed some acoustics and a bit of midrange punch due to stringent emissions requirements. Upgrading this machine with a Termignoni Titanium Racing Full Exhaust System fundamentally alters the bike. It removes constraints to unleash the raw, high-performance nature of the Multistrada.
As I headed out onto 39 and hit the twisties I was quickly reminded how responsive and adrenalin pumping this bike can be. Accelerating out of each apex it was easy to get into a good rhythm. ( watch out for the big pothole in the middle of the road halfway between 42 and 142)
After turning onto 142 and Kivett road and then more curves I headed out into the corn and bean fields for some fast straight line accelerating and then back to the shop. Stop by for a test ride and experience it yourself. It won't disappoint!
