Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers)

1) Newly licensed drivers MUST have their permit for 6 months before they are license eligible. If you want your student to get their license on their 16th birthday plan on them getting into driver's ed before they are 15 1/2.

2) students are eligible to take drivers ed as soon as they turn 15!

3) you can get your permit 10 days prior to the start date of your class.

4) Can we test here at ZSOD? YES! We are an approved testing center for the State Knowledge and State Skills test. We test students from our school, any school, and members of the general public!

Starting January 2027, anyone under the age of 19 MUST complete a drivers education course to obtain their license. That then goes up again in 2028
