Play hard, pay hard…. After busting through a few drive belts and going to a chain drive, this customer has put I believe two stock transmissions in his scoot, but when you ride hard on a built engine (128 CID, cammed, and tuned) that stress will come to a head at the weakest link.

Many people overlook the primary chain case components when they want a bigger, badder engine and more power. Please consider everything between the engine and where the rubber hits the road when you want to be able to reliably twist the hell out of your throttle and enjoy your bike with less headache.

I don’t typically suggest higher end components for everything, but a quick conversation with the rider led us to a Baker Drivetrain Grudge Box transmission and a complete Evolution Industries clutch basket replacement. He already had a Baker compensator assy from one of the previous failures.

Let me know what I can do for you…..

Weird noises spontaneously coming from your bike suck.

This customer brought his bike in for a 3 hole fluid/filter change, and mentioned his final drive chain (an aftermarket conversion from belt drive) was loose and was slapping around. He trailered it to the shop for me to do what I do.

Upon arrival, bike wouldn’t start to get it in the garage, so he asked for a battery as well.

Changed the battery, cleaned, re-lubed, and tightened the chain, to find there’s still a “slapping” noise coming from his primary after my first start. Contacted the customer to let him know I gotta go a little deeper. Found this gremlin hiding in his compensator spring pack (the broken spring). It’s an aftermarket brand (doesn’t matter which one). This dude loves clutch dumps and burnouts. I don’t care what brand of components you like, if you bash it enough, you’re gonna break stuff. The cost of having fun I guess…..

As always, let me know what I can do for you.

Believe it or not, riding season is right around the corner. Give me a call with those maintenance/performance projects you’ve been putting off.

This 09 CVO Roady is getting higher compression pistons to better match the owners cam choice previously installed along with new valve springs/seals, and top end gaskets simce its been a while. Ring gaps meticulously measured and staggered in a fresh crosshatch in the cylinders.

Every build comes with a printout of all ring gaps, piston to cylinder wall measurements, and piston to deck height measurements (in this case). I do this for the next mechanic so they know exactly what’s going on before they have to put a wrench on it.

As always, let me know what I can do for you…..

We put a Trask turbo on what is becoming the most expensive 2005 Road King on the planet…😂😂

First fire up/ burn off (new parts always smoke up a little on first heat). 2005 Road King, S&S long stroke bottom end, S&S big bore kit with Carrillo pistons, 585 cams, baker 6 speed trans, Barnett clutch w/ heavy spring , and chain drive conversion.

Little bit of tweaking on base tune and we’ll be ready for a road test whenever weather allows…

Let me know what I can do for you…

I was contacted by a customer from Maryland whose transmission wasn’t going into gear in his 03 Road Glide. I had a used 5-speed gearset I had removed from my personal bike when I swapped out for a Baker 6-speed, so he opted to drag his scoot down for me to investigate if he needed the whole thing changed out.

We were hoping for a simple shifter paw adjustment/replacement, but on the tear in, I found the countershaft 5th gear broken in pieces laying in the bottom of the trans housing.

I only got about 1/2 ounce of transmission fluid when I drained it, and the customer hadn’t messed with it (he just bought the bike and rode it once or twice).

My best guess is the inner needle bearing in the main shaft output gear got hot and gave up the ghost, sending fragments into the rest of the transmission.

All new bearings, gaskets, seals, upgraded inner primary bearing, and fluids.

Check all three fluids when buying a used bike, and as always, let me know what I can do for you…….

Customer contacted me with a few issues. He had smacking noises in the primary on shutdown and the starter was kicking back on initial startup.

Certain late 2000’s bike have a less than adequate compensator that is known to lose spring pressure.

Checked all grounds to the starter and torque on the compensator nut, which all checked out alright. This new HDSE compensator installed cleared up is starting isssue.

Also did 3 hole oil change, front/rear brakes, fixed an exhaust leak, and adjusted his clutch (it was dragging with clutch lever pulled). She’s all good to go…

Customer was almost at his wits end with the way his bike was running with the OG Magneti Marelli EFI setup on his early 2000’s Sreamin Eagle Roady. He was about to try and salvage what he could with what he had to cut his losses

I was able to switch it up to the reliable Delphi system with the help of Zippers Performance Products and a ThunderMax ECU replacement!!

Another happy customer….. Let me know what I can do for you….
