Misfire, rough idle, low oil pressure, and a check engine light can occasionally point to serious engine damage or internal wear. This Ram 1500 came to us with a persistent cylinder 5 misfire even after the customer replaced the ignition coils, spark plugs, and fuel injectors.
After performing a full diagnosis, we found the real issue — a failed camshaft and lifters. Worn cam lobes and lifter failure can cause misfires, valvetrain noise, poor performance, and low oil pressure issues that won’t be fixed by replacing ignition or fuel components alone.
We got the problem properly diagnosed and repaired, getting this truck back running the way it should. If your vehicle has a persistent misfire, rough idle, abnormal engine noise, or warning lights, don’t just throw parts at it — proper diagnostics can save you time and money.
