If your Chevy, GMC, or Buick suddenly boots to a Cadillac crest and then
goes black — that's not a glitch, and no reset is going to fix it.
That's a complete CSM (Center Stack Module) failure. The module has lost
the ability to read its own vehicle configuration, so it falls back to a
default brand identity, then fails to finish booting.
It's one of the very few GM infotainment symptoms that points to a single
component with confidence. Nothing outside the CSM can make your truck
think it's a Cadillac.
Usually it hits suddenly. Occasionally you get a short warning window
where it does it once or twice and then recovers — but it won't keep
recovering.
Cadillac owners get hit with this too, it's just harder to spot for
obvious reasons.

a replacement actually involves — link in comments.
