Hello Everyone,
This is Robert the owner of E30 Motor Werks, It is with sadness and regret that I must announce that the shop is:
Officially Closed.
The reasons where many and it was not any one element that sank the ship. This was a personal choice.
I personally did not like the direction the shop was headed, things had become chaotic and stressful. Overhead cost where rising past any level of profit.
Our commitment to Quality Craftsmanship was being strained due to the constant money chase to make ends meet and several projects where well past due.
I also demanded that I take my life back. I was overweight, stressed, was not doing the things in life that I felt where important to me, had zero social life, and my family life was suffering.
So with all these circumstances and many more I have made the choice to close the shop. I know this effects many individuals and all of you are great folks, friends, and customers and I thank all of you for your patronage.
So whats next?
Some time off to reflect on the last 7 years of shop ownership, what I did right, what I could have done better and what I just plain did wrong.
I will be bringing a couple private projects home with me. Metallica's Garage Days Revisited comes to mind :) I will be doing some freelance work with a couple of other shops, perhaps a part time gig doing nothing.
Next Year?? E30 MWerks?, specializing in only the E30 M3??
I have lots of knowledge and lots of clients, my future is wide open.
One thing is certain, you have not seen the last of me and the name E30 Motor Werks is not dead by any means. I have simply closed down commercial/retail operations.
I will post up some pictures and stories from this year and keep everyone posted on what the future holds.
In the mean time, take your life back, be healthy, happy and enjoy!
Take Care and Love You All!
Robert Calhoun
