✨ BG Products History ✨

After World War II, six veterans and a land speed record holder emerged from the difficult days of war with courage, ingenuity, and a vision for a great company. The seven entrepreneurs had years of experience in the automotive industry before coming together in 1971 to form BG Products, Inc.

Don Broadbent (1923-2009) was a highly decorated WWII veteran and flew 35 bombing missions in a Flying Fortress B-17. After the war, he built a successful fuel distributorship in Iowa with his father. He enjoyed a special rapport with farmers, and his distinctive pink vans certainly stood out on the rural, backcountry roads.

As one of BG's founders, Broadbent leveraged his sage counsel and expertise to create a company of unparalleled integrity. Even after retiring and selling his BG Distributorship, he remained active on the company's Board of Directors, serving on and heading numerous committees.
