2026 Honda Accord. This is becoming the barely tolerable rental car review page if you’re an enthusiast.
I’ve always liked the appearance of the ‘23+ Honda Accord and this model has nice wheels.

Can’t really comment much on the ride because the Southern California roads are so poor. However it does have some really nice features such as touch entry, it shows you if your brake lights are on with a little display which is convenient because it reminds you that you’re sitting parked with your brake lights on for no reason. And tells you that your brake hold function is active. With the overactive adaptive cruise control, the brake lights keep flashing due to the car in front, unlike every other vehicle in the flow of traffic.
The throttle is a very laggy from a stop and the CVT has some surge at wide open throttle. Worse, the engine restart is slow when accelerating from a stop. In no way is this a quick car but a drag race vs. the Corolla would be interesting.
The Sport model should have 300hp, that would be great.
The ergonomics are excellent. Touchscreen on top with two physical buttons, dedicated HVAC controls below. Steering wheel controls for audio/phone on the left, cruise control on the right. Steering column stalks for lights on the left, wipers on the right. Perfect.

A miserable highway car. The 2025 Toyota Corolla LE may be nimble, it may be kind of quick (above 50-60mph, surprisingly) and it may be very reliable. That CVT transmission and buzzy 4cylinder was very annoying as well.

What is a better highway car? A 2019 Ford Fusion with THREE times as many miles on the odometer.

The ride quality was poor, the road noise excessive. On roads that are not great, the seat transmitting bumps to the mid-torso was like a vibration table affecting your digestion.

Keyed ignition must be more expensive than push button start.

One other aspect that is unfortunately fading is weight. At 3,000 lbs it is quite tossable. A sensation that few cars have these days.

Lol the ignorance here on PHEVs is ridiculous.

Charge at home, charge free at work.
Our 12 second Cayenne PHEV got 49mpg in March. We’ve seen as high as 75.9mpg between fill-ups.
My 13 second BMW 530e Xdrive got 54.9mph in March.

A lot of people buy a plug-in hybrid car but never plug it in to charge. What do you think happens? See link below ⬇️

Genesis GV80 AWD
Mini review of my silver rental. 300hp turbo-4 power was decent but the throttle response in Comfort mode was poor. Didn’t even waste my time in Eco mode.
Auto shut-off sucks as expected. Why do I want non-conditioned air blowing on me when sitting at a stop light? So that’s a button press for the later and a dial turn for the former. Three dials on the center console.
If you prefer L-shaped plugs for your phone, it’s tight for the fingers to plug in the phone.
Nice dash display and one incident of no Car Play connection was particularly bothersome in the rental while hurrying to a client site.
Ride was decent but a little soft with body roll in turns, and a little harsh on particularly bad roads.
Since rear cameras are required, shouldn’t luxury vehicles include front cameras? Pretty nice SUV overall, but I would get the more powerful configurations of the twin-turbo V6.

Can’t deny the utility of trucks. The whole “they hardly tow” is just a straw man argument. Go to Costco and witness the beds being used all the time. Costco
