Purdue Day of Giving is happening now! Help us win the most donations in the 2-3pm time frame!
Purdue Day of Giving (PDOG) is happening tomorrow, April 27th. Support from PDOG helps keep the team going by funding items on the car such as those in the second picture. Link to donate is in our bio!
Extra prize money is awarded to organizations for various items. We are shooting to win most donations to an organization from 2-3pm EDT. Donations are a minimum $10, but if you would like to donate more (say $50), 5 donations of $10 from 2-3pm helps us out the most!
Even if you are unable to donate in that time period, anything tomorrow helps us out!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, from our team to yours! 🎄
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our team to you! 🎄
Had a great time this weekend and their Butler Bash competition. We were able to get 4th with our 2021 car and a lot of people some seat time in the muddy conditions. Onto really cranking out manufacturing our 2022 car.
We had our new member driving day today and were able to get some of the old cars a bit of action again. It was a great day with great weather and great fun. Thanks for the awesome photos!
Join us tonight at 6pm in EE 129 for our joint callout with and . We will give general info about each team and how to join with the cars being on display following the callout to ask questions.
The car did great in endurance today only stopping for 2 popped tires and 1 unthreaded shock. We finished 14th out of 58 teams in endurance which put us at 9th overall for the competition!!
For the virtual knowledge events in April, we finished 5th in the business presentation and tied for 6th in design after 4WD bonus points. We are incredibly happy with the car this year and the progress the team has made! A big thanks to everyone who has helped develop the team over the last few years and a HUGE thank you to our sponsors for helping to make this car a reality!
Next year we are looking forward to coming back even better🚂⚒️
is only two days away! Show us your support and school spirit in helping to keep our team going by donating this Wednesday!
Final vehicle update coming soon
A big thank you to for hardening our gears and other drivetrain pieces! Dana has also helped us this year with designing our gears for optimal life and performance while also cutting splines for our axles and driveshafts.
Final assembly is officially underway!
Hello everyone!
Today is Purdue Day of Giving - which means it’s time to meet the challenge! For just one day, not only does your generous gift help Purdue’s Baja SAE Racing team, but you can actually amplify your impact by helping us win bonus funds through hourly and full-day challenges.
You can make your gift by clicking here to donate directly to the team. https://dayofgiving.purdue.edu/campaigns/purdue-baja-racing
Through your support on Purdue Day of Giving, we are able to purchase various components of the car like chassis tubes, shocks, and the engine. The continued support ensures that the Baja team can continue to run year after year, training the next generation of great industry leaders. Helping to fund our team so that we can continue designing the best car possible is one of the most impactful ways you can support us in this unprecedented time. Without the many small donations that we rely on from events like this, our subteam leads would be limited in their designs by funding rather than feasibility or scheduling concerns, which stifles the creative and innovative process associated with creating a fully integrated, functioning vehicle.
During these unprecedented times, the Boilermaker community must continue to work together in our commitment to the enhancement of Purdue University. Help us make our vision—becoming a perennial Top 10 team that develops student engineers to invigorate industry—a reality. Thank you for helping Baja Racing take the next giant leap into our four-wheel drive car!
Only a few more days to order your Purdue Baja T Shirts! The order will be open through Tuesday June 9th. The team really appreciates the support from everyone!

This season has certainly not ended the way the team anticipated. Of course with all the problems brought about by Covid-19 the team has not been back on campus since spring break, and SAE has moved all competitions to a virtual format. Luckily the team completed the car on time this year which meant we got to have a small group spend spring break testing the car. We think it just might be the best all-around car any of us have driven. It's too bad the seniors won't get a chance to show off the car they dedicated so much of their senior year building. We're confident this car would have performed well at competition, but I guess we'll have to wait until midnight mayhem to see how it stacks up.
Assembly begins tonight!
Special thank you to Colors Inc in Indianapolis for anodizing our parts and making them look amazing! We can't wait to put them on the car!!!
Weld me like one of your French girl ;)
Happy Holidays, front out pit crew to yours!
Success! The Baja team raced well this weekend and came back muddy from Mayhem!
We raced 30 laps in the endurance race, putting us at 46th out of 92 teams for that event!
Design is already well under way for our new car, which we look forward to taking back to Drop Forge Proving Grounds this May for the 2020 Baja SAE Competition!
Come join us for a joint callout with our on-road counterparts Purdue Formula SAE and Purdue Electric Racing. September 3 at 6PM in EE 129 then we will go out and check out all 3 cars. Come join us to learn about the SAE teams at Purdue!
Here's a video the School of Mechanical Engineering made highlighting just what the team is about. All the footage was recorded at our competition in Rochester.
Motorsports has a way of testing an engineer's mettle. Sure, you've worked hard and prepared all year for this -- but when everything breaks and is covered in dirt, can you fix it in 30 minutes? That's the challenge of Purdue Baja Racing: https://engineering.purdue.edu/ME/News/2019/purdue-baja-racing-engineering-on-the-fly
The Purdue Baja Team will be out at the Chicagoland Speedway this afternoon with and so come check us out!
@ Champions Park At Chicagoland Speedway
We can't wait for us weekend! We have been invited with the formula and electric racing teams to display our cars Saturday during the NASCAR Xfinity race at Chicagoland Speedway! If you're at the race stop by, say hi to the team, and check out our new car, Riot. We're looking forward to day of great racing!
Wow! It's been nearly 2 weeks but the Purdue Baja Team is still living in the RIOT that was competition this year! We placed 70th overall, and although we didn't do as well as we had hoped, the team had a great time and we are already looking forward to next year! In the words of this coming season's president ( ), "I just wanted to thank everyone for coming to comp. The results may not have been what we wanted but we’re returning a very young team and have a lot of room to grow and I think we are set up to do just that."
@ Hogback Mountain
The team is on their way home from Rochester. We had a good weekend at competition. We were able to compete and finish every event after passing tech inspection on the second try and brake check on the first try. The results were not as good as we wanted but it was a very good learning experience for our young team. Thanks again to all our sponsors who make this possible! We're already looking forward to and working towards next year.
It's Race Day! Follow our story for updates on the endurance race and check out our highlights on our Instagram page for more pics of this year's competition!!!
@ Palmyra Racing Association (Hogback Hill)
The team traveled to Rochester NY yesterday for this year's SAE competition. We made a quick stop at Niagara Falls on our way through now we're just waiting to be parked so we can get to work!
Today is the DAY! It's Purdue Day of Giving, and Baja Racing would love your support!

💛🖤💛 MEET RIOT!! 💛🖤💛
Riot arrived into the world today at approximately 6:09 pm. She weighed in at 71 pounds with a shiny black coat!
Special shoutout to for powder coating her!
Help us welcome Riot into the world of racing by catching us at the SAE Baja Competition this summer in Rochester, New York!
Hopefully you find this video as satisfying as we did, and hopefully it helps you forget that it's Monday. We're working away in the machine shop trying to get things done before spring break. It will all start coming together soon!
Some of the team had a great trip up to Michigan's Upper Peninsula to compete in Winter Baja hosted by Michigan Tech. As always, we had a blast. We learned a lot, got new drivers racing experience, and got team members experience working in the pit. Now it's time to put our noses to the grindstone and build a new car.

Manufacturing season is underway! Here we’re prepping some aluminum for rear hubs, which will be cut on both CNC lathe and mill.
Huge thanks to Waterjet Cutting of Indiana for allowing us to come down last night and cut out some of our parts!
UTEP 2014 - James flew around the course in these two laps, both in the 4:2x second range. Titan survived the Endurance Race and only required a flat tire replacement (and fuel) while being within 10 seconds of the fastest lap all day during these hot laps. A great competition and already looking forward to the next iteration / building upon a solid foundation of validated design thanks to prior years' engineering and testing.
