2027 STUDENT RACER SCHOLARSHIP

Supporting the Next Generation of Racers

Syers Racing is proud to announce the 2027 Syers Racing Student Racer Scholarship. This scholarship supports a young racer who demonstrates a passion for racing, dedication to education, and a commitment to personal growth both on and off the track.

Racing teaches valuable lessons in dedication, responsibility, teamwork, determination, patience, mechanical skills, sportsmanship, and perseverance.

We want to hear your story.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

* Be 18 years old or younger at the time of application.
* Be enrolled in school, homeschooled, or participating in an equivalent educational program.
* Be actively involved in racing.
* Be in good academic standing.
* Submit a completed application and essay by the announced deadline.
* Have a parent or legal guardian sign the application if they are under 18.

Application Requirements

Applicants should provide the following information:

* Name
* Age
* School
* Grade level
* Current GPA or most recent academic information
* Racing class or type of racing
* Number of years involved in racing
* Racing accomplishments, if applicable
* Goals for the 2027 racing season

Essay Requirements

Submit a minimum one-page essay describing yourself and your racing journey.

Essays must be mailed to Syers Racing and postmarked by the announced deadline. The mailing address and deadline will be provided with the final application.

Your essay should address the following topics:

1. About You

Tell us about yourself, your school, your interests, and what makes you who you are.

2. Education

What grade are you in? How are your grades? What subjects do you enjoy? What are your educational goals?

3. Your Racing Journey

Who introduced you to racing? What was your first racing experience? What do you race, and how long have you been involved?

4. What Racing Means to You

What do you love most about racing? Consider the competition, the people, working on your car, the track, the excitement, learning, or other aspects of the sport.

5. What Keeps You Racing

What makes you excited to go to the track, and what keeps you coming back?

6. Your 2027 Goals

What are you looking forward to during the 2027 racing season? Tell us about the goals you hope to achieve, the skills you want to learn, and the experiences you hope to have.

7. Your Future Dreams

Tell us where you hope racing, education, or your career may take you.

Academic Information

Include your current grade level and GPA or most recent academic information.

We are not simply looking for the student with the highest grades. We want to understand the effort, dedication, and goals behind those grades.

Scholarship Award

2027 Scholarship Amount: To Be Announced

The scholarship will be awarded to one deserving student racer. Funds may be used toward qualifying educational expenses, racing-related education, tools or equipment, or other approved expenses related to the recipient’s educational or racing goals.

Additional award details will be provided with the final application.

We have learned that some of the greatest lessons are not always taught in a classroom. They are learned in the garage, at the track, beside your race car, from family members who take the time to teach you, from competitors who help when you need it, and from getting back up after a difficult day.

That is why we want to give back to the young people carrying the sport forward.

We are not just looking for the fastest racer. We want to hear about the person behind the racer—your story, your dedication, your dreams, and what racing means to you.

Whether you have been racing for years or are just beginning to find your place in the racing community, we want to hear your story.

To the women who race…

Nobody handed you that spot on the starting line.

You didn't get there because somebody thought it would be nice to have a girl in the lineup.

You got there the same way every other driver did.

You earned it.

Every lap. Every late night. Every dollar spent chasing something that most people will never understand.

Every bad start.
Every close call.
Every jumped start.
Every didn't-make-the-A.
Every 15th place.
Every wreck.
Every "my bad."

Every time you climbed back into that car when walking away would've been a whole lot easier.

And maybe somewhere along the way, somebody underestimated you.

Maybe somebody looked at you and saw a girl before they saw a driver.

Maybe you've had to work twice as hard to get half the recognition.

But you kept showing up.

And that's the part I wish more people understood.

Because when that helmet goes on, you're not somebody's daughter, somebody's wife, somebody's girlfriend, or the girl in the pits.

You're the one behind the wheel.

You're the one taking the green.

You're the one carrying every ounce of work, sacrifice, heartache, and determination it took to get there.

And you deserve to be celebrated for every bit of it.

Not because you're a woman who races.

Because you're a RACER who deserves to be there.

And to the little girls standing against that fence, watching you go by?

Lord, I hope you know what you're doing for them.
Because somewhere, there's a little girl who just watched you do something she didn't know she was allowed to dream about.

And now she does.

One day, she won't be standing at that fence watching.

She'll be sitting in that seat.

And when she gets there, she'll have women like you to thank for making that starting line feel a little less impossible to reach.

So keep taking up space.

Keep making noise.

Keep showing them what you've got.

And the next time you roll onto that track, I hope you remember this:

You are not the exception to the rule.

You are part of the reason the next generation won't even know there was a rule to break.

And THAT is a legacy worth leaving.
