Most recovery “delays” in Massachusetts and Rhode Island aren’t delays.
They’re compliance.
Just because a vehicle is out for repossession doesn’t mean we can take it from anywhere.
If a unit is in a driveway, behind a gate, blocked in, or on restricted private property, we have to look at access, risk, and breach-of-peace issues before making a move.
That is what protects the lender.
Doing it right means:
- Verify the address and access.
- Avoid forcing a recovery that creates legal exposure.
- Document why it’s a no-go with timestamps, photos, and clean notes.
- Move to the next lawful option: contact, voluntary pickup, or recovery when the unit moves to a clean location.
That may take longer than “just send a truck.”
But it helps prevent complaints, claims, and bad paper.
We’re not interested in shortcuts.
We’re interested in outcomes that hold up when someone asks questions later.
