Learning to Play

Learning to Play Learning to Play was created by Melissa Collumbell a NY State Certified Special Education Teacher with over 13 years of ABA experience.

Learning to Play is a fun, interactive class designed especially to meet the needs of Special Learners, ages 1.5 - 3.5! Each class reduces sensory overload by keeping class sizes small, lowering music volume, and allowing a move at your own pace schedule. Your child will enjoy music, dancing, bubbles, a parachute, a pop-up tent, tunnels and other FUN fine and gross motor activities! Classes offer both parent and child a place to make community friends!

I am excited to be traveling to several libraries throughout Long Island to teach mindfulness for children and their families! I will work with children to teach them about different emotions and how to relax when they experience the not so nice emotions. Children will participate in deep breathing exercises, relaxing stretching poses, and make a breathing stick they can bring home and begin using right away. The workshops are designed for children ages five through nine. As always, parents are welcome! Contact the following libraries for information about registration.

Huntington Library- July 17th
Port Jefferson Library - July 18th
Middle Country Library - August 1st
Bellport Library - September 22nd
Longwood Library- September 28th
