Hello everyone and happy Monday!

We just recently finished a rebuild on a 5 speed FWD transmission out of a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT, this transmission came to us with a grinding 2nd gear, the synchronizer for that gear was very worn down and when this happens you will have a hard time selecting that gear without grinding occurring, the synchro is what allows the gears to slow down enough to engage into the gear youre selecting. We went through and replaced all bearings and all synchros for each gear including polishing all hub sliders for smoother gear engagement.

parts for this transmission were definitely hard to come by as a few important bearings are now discontinued - luckily we were able to source all parts needed and complete the rebuild, leaving the customer with a transmission that shifts like butter 🧈

Hello everyone!! Happy Sunday 🛞

At K&M Automotive we have had a wild summer so far! We had a couple larger projects fall into our hands, starting with a full diesel fuel system repair on a 2016 Ram 3500 after the fuel had been contaminated by DEF (Diesel Exhaust fluid) - with this we went through the entire fuel system replacing the fuel tank, all associated lines, fuel sending unit, fuel filters and housings, injectors, injection pump, high pressure fuel rail & lines etc - even down to every banjo bolt and washer doing a full fuel system refresh! The customer was happy to have their Hauling truck back after running into a few discontinued as well as backordered parts - we still did what we had to do and got the truck back on the road for Rodeo season! With custom made lines and outsourcing we made it happen! 😎

Next up was a 2007 Ford F150 with a 5.4L 3V engine that was due for timing, as the timing chain was becoming loose causing the chain to slap the timing cover and scrub the oil pump, this is a very common issue for 5.4L’s - we went in and did a full timing chain / cam phaser refresh on the engine as well as a coolant flush and replacement of the water pump/thermostat, valve cover gaskets, and VVT solenoids. With replacement customer states he no longer has throttle hesitation at higher speed and all associated engine noise was gone 🔧

And Then… one of our local Junk Hauler specialists Junk Haulers LLC had a failure on his box truck resulting in his driver wheel almost falling off his truck on the highway, after he had his truck towed to us we found a shaved down spindle, a bent king pin, wheel hub bearings were non existent as well as a wheel hub, caliper, distance piece, ABS sensor and more essentially replacing the entire driver side and following up with the same replacements on the passenger side as well as replacement of the exhaust manifolds and gaskets as the exhaust manifolds were cracking allowing a fresh air leak to distort the O2 sensors.

We wrapped up a full brake service on a 2006 Honda Element, The vehicle came in with a seized front caliper, so we replaced the caliper and installed new brake pads and rotors on both the front and rear to get everything stopping safely again.

Happy Tuesday ☀️

We wanted to share an update with everyone who has been following our GoFundMe for Scott. After coming across a Facebook post about a gentleman who had been broken down for over a week at M&M Powder Coating in downtown Vancouver, our community stepped up in an incredible way.

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to raise enough funds to replace Scott’s timing belt and water pump, as well as perform an oil change and coolant flush. We’re happy to report that Scott is now back on the road — warm, safe, and with a smile on his face and gratitude in his heart ❤️

Scott has already traveled through 28 states in his 3.2L Acura, and he’s now continuing on to his next adventure.

In total, $440 was raised, along with countless acts of kindness from individuals who brought blankets, warm clothing, and hot meals while funds were being collected for parts. This outcome truly reflects the power of community.

We couldn’t have made this happen without the overwhelming support and compassion shown by everyone involved. Thank you to all who helped support Scott and be a part of his journey. We are beyond grateful for such a caring and generous community 😊

Hello everyone, we are a husband & wife locally owned and operated mobile mechanics with K&M Automotive. We are raising funds for Scott, a kind gentleman who is down on his luck. He lives out of his car and has been to over 28 states with countless stories to tell in search of experience to write his book. He is down on his luck as his engine has a torn timing belt, leaving him stopped in his tracks as he travels through the Vancouver area. As a community, we are coming together to help raise funds to get him into a warm hotel, with food and warm clothing, as well as funds needed for parts to fix his vehicle and get him back on the road. We have a wonderful and amazing community; the number of wonderful people who have reached out already has our hearts warmed knowing we can help a soul in need ❤️ Our labor is free of charge, we only hope to get Scott back on the road safely and quickly!

We’re Maddy & Keaton, the husband-and-wife team behind K&M Automotive, your local mobile mechanics.

This year has been tough on many families in our community, and we want to do our part to give back. From the start of November to December 16th we’ll be hosting a community food drive along with American Legion Cape Horn Post 122 to help local families in need.

🔥 1966 Ford Galaxie Revival! 🔥

We had the pleasure of working on this beautiful ’66 Ford Galaxie packing a souped-up 428 Cobra Jet — and let us tell you, this classic roars!

We gave it some serious love under the hood and in the details:
🔧 Cleaned & tuned the carburetor
⚙️ Adjusted the electric choke & engine timing
🧰 Replaced intake & exhaust manifold gaskets
🛠️ Set the rocker arms to proper zero lash (cold & hot adjustments)
🪛 Replaced valve cover gaskets, repaired wiring, and fixed a battery draw issue
💧 Performed a full coolant flush, oil change, and cleaned out the fuel tank from old fuel

And that’s not all — we went all in on a full interior and exterior detail, spending days polishing every chrome and aluminum trim piece, removing oxidation, and getting this Galaxie shining like new again.

We’re so proud of how this one turned out! 🚗✨
