When traveling Maine route 9 between Amherst and US route 1, make sure you top off your fuel! That was the closest I've come, so far, to having to break out the emergency fuel bottle.

If you're into absolutely deserted roads with nothing for miles but moose and bogs, it's a gorgeous ride! Its also one of those rare rides in Maine where you can open the throttle a little and enjoy some pretty cool long, sweeping turns.

The Bear got a new personal record of 168 miles between fill-ups. Not something I plan on doing again.

Off to road trip again in Maine. Got hungry, so I made an impromptu stop at "The Narrows" in Waldoboro. I decided to just pick something at random when I went downtown.

Granted, its not a "destination" foodie stop, but the reuben was excellent, and the local brews were great! McGovern Belfast Bay oatmeal stout was my choice.

Im not sure what they did to the Russian dressing, but it has a hint of a smokey/sweet flavor that just made it set apart from the usual. Nothing fancy, just good!

Got the Bear up to Mount Washington, in NH today. First vehicle up and the weather was perfect!! Videos to follow. Not sure if they'll convey the "pucker factor", but it was memorable, for sure!

I also had the privilege of meeting some outstanding riders from all over from Canada, Germany and the southern states. Even a couple from NY who were really nice (they were on Super Meteors).

Planning on riding up to hit Mount Washington, NH this week (4-5 August ). Im giving myself 2 days, in case the famously unpredictable weather at the top shuts me down one day.

Who wants to make it a "Bear Assault on the Mtn" ?

Ill be rolling in from the Seacoast. Will have the gear for moto-camping, but dont know the area very well, and would appreciate any input on a non-commercial campground (think a site off a dirt road, or "wild camping"). Of course, a sweet B&B isnt out of the question, also, haha.

If you're going to visit the seacoast of Maine and southern NH, you NEED to go to Sig Sauer in Epping! I was fortunate enough to go during SummerFest, and it's definitely going to be on the list next year. The staff are amazing, and the facility is top-notch.

Been out playing up in New England for a few days. From the Mtns to the Sea, the photo opportunities are nearly endless!

One of the biggest differences riding New England and riding the Carolinas is the damn tar snakes. They're everywhere! The only solution for them is to simply slow down and take your time, of course. Enjoy the ride, stop and take pictures, eat great food!
