Kleymann Family Motorsports 3 Brothers living out a dream by racing dirt sprint cars through out the Mid-West

The team got to reconnect with a dear old friend last weekend when Cordell Rogers, owner of DIRTY SOUTH RACE MEDIA walked into the trailer! He's been very busy with all of his media talents and our paths haven't crossed in a while. We had to let the big dawg eat and put one of his cameras on the 23K. Check out the footage from the A Feature Saturday night and then immediately go give his page a follow!

It was definitely a night of perspective for Mike and the rest of the KFM crew. On paper it looks a little like failure. And if you could have seen the fuel leak during motor heat you'd REALLY think the night was a failure. But we really accomplished our number one priority which was sorting out the issues we had last weekend out west. Stephen and Mike really leaned on the help of living legends to sort out our fueling issue and we finally got it right. The car took off way better on starts and the water temp stayed below 220 the whole time the car was on track.

So the car ran better, we should be up front....right? Well, it turns out decision making wasn't quite our drivers forte for the night. The track had quite a bit of character during the heat race and Mike found the smoothest line to be the top. Unfortunately that was not the fastest way around. When you drop 3 spots in your heat you can almost guarantee yourself a last place starting spot in the feature. So that's where we were. Mike also chose the top line for the first lap and looked ok but wasn't really gaining on anyone other than the 2 cars he passed at the drop of the green. After a red flag he took a look at the bottom and felt like there might be something to grab onto down there. That would have probably been true if we had made the proper setup changes. But we missed the mark and the car wouldn't get off of either corner with any kind of drive.

Luckily Mike was able to pull off a couple more passes and move forward 6 spots by the end of the race. Only 5 passes short of the hard charger award! πŸ˜’

All in all it was a solid night. We figured out our issues and we'll be ready to rip next time out. Speaking of which, we're not 100% sure when that will be. There is rumor of a possible race in September. But until that is confirmed our next race will be October 3rd back at 81 Speedway. So we hope to see you all there. And if you've read this far we want you to know we really appreciate you! Please support the people that support us! That's the best way you can help us out.

But this is a rare opportunity for our local friends, family, and partners to come out and see us do our thing! So if you have plans...cancel them! Get to the track!

Well it was a frustrating end to a frustrating weekend. We continued fighting fueling issues all night Friday. We think we're way too fat on the bottom end and way too lean on the top end.

But we'd like to extend a huge thank you to all the people that made Friday night possible. There was quite a bit of rain Thursday night and the promoter at Wakeeny Speedway got AFTER IT. He busted his ass and provided a surface that raced well all night. Hats off to him and his whole crew for putting in the effort to make the race happen.

Mike liked the track a lot. But the motor issues just made it hard to drive. If he could keep his foot in it and keep it spinning he was competitive. But as soon as he had to lift or brake and lose any RPM he was done for. Was gifted a spot and managed to gain another in the heat. That put him on the pole for the B feature. He held on as long as he could, led a couple laps, got passed by a couple fast cars, then as the motor got hot again the problem just got worse and worse. Ended up 2 spots out of the transfer.

So that's the end of the weekend. We have some theories that might get this thing running right again. So we'll work on it and try to get a test session to sort out our stuff. The plan is for the next race to be October 3rd at our home track, 81 Speedway. We'd love to see everyone come out!

Thanks, as usual, to all of our partners who make this stuff possible. It takes a village!

As you can see and hopefully saw on the live, the night didn't go as we'd hoped. I (Mike) take full responsibility. The track was fine, the setup was probably just fine. But starting deep in the field and having 2 more nights ahead of us I felt the smart thing to do was run the bottom. If you go back and watch the video, almost everyone else was running the high line. That's because it was faster. But I chose to just log laps on the bottom and that's not what our team, our fans, and our supporters deserve. At the end of the day, it wouldn't have mattered anyway because the car got hot. Much hotter than I like to see it get. But not so much that it caused damage. These temp gauges can be kinda off anyway. But it was spitting out of the overflow so it was best to shut it down. My promise to everyone for the rest of the weekend is this. I will run the fastest line I can find. If that means putting it on the top shelf where mistakes can be more risky, that's what I will do. After the races we had to haul ass to get things loaded up because the storm rolled in immediately. The wind literally blew the car up to the trailer door. We got out in the nick of time. We're back in Wakeeny at the hotel and safe. Looking forward to resetting and giving it hell tomorrow. Thanks to everyone involved and all of you for following along. A rough day at the race track beats a good day at work!

Please support these folks as they have to deal with me on a regular basis.
