Daniel Communities is built on a legacy of success and guiding principles of Daniel Construction Company founded in

1934 by Charles Daniel in Greenville, South Carolina. In 1964, Daniel Corporation was established to provide a real estate development and investment vehicle for Daniel Construction Company. In 1977, California based Fluor Corporation acquired Daniel to become one of the largest engineering and construction companies in the world. In 1986, senior management acquired the real estate subsidiary of Fluor Daniel, forming the privately held Daniel Corporation. For 30 years, Daniel Corporation was comprised of two operating companies:

- Daniel Communities
- Daniel Commercial (www.danielcorp.com)

In 2016, Daniel Communities transitioned to an independent enterprise focused on masterplanned community, hospitality and resort destination development, management and advisory. Daniel Communities and Daniel Corporation proudly share a heritage as a recognized leader in the real estate industry, and in the business community at large.
