Please respect the craftsmanship.

But all jokes aside, most people who follow Appearance Kings probably know we use AI.

A lot.

And we don't hide that.

We just think there's a pretty big difference between asking AI:

"Make something for me."

and saying:

"Here's the idea in my head. Help me bring it to life."

If You ask AI to create everything from thin air...

the idea,
the message,
the personality,
the design,
the story...

You're probably going to get something that feels like it came from AI.

Generic.

But when the idea is already Yours...

when the story actually happened...

when the vision came from Your own head...

AI becomes something completely different.

It's an assistant.

A copywriter.
An editor.
A researcher.
A designer.
A sounding board.

Businesses have paid thousands of dollars to work alongside these people for decades.

AI just made access to that kind of help available to almost everybody.

We don't want AI thinking for us.

We want it helping us take the things we're already thinking about and execute them better.

There's a huge difference.

Technology doesn't replace creativity.

It gives creative people another tool.

Although, judging by this flyer...

maybe we should've used the tool. 😂

Anyway...

i don't have a lot of friends, and if i'm being fair, i'm probably not everybody's cup of tea.

i'm a pretty serious person.
i take life seriously.
i take responsibility seriously.
i take the words i speak seriously.

And sometimes that probably makes me a little harder to get to know.

So when a post i made recently received more than 100 reactions, it meant more to me than most people probably realize.

Not because i'm chasing likes.

Not because 100 is some magical number.

But because every time i post something, there's usually a lot more thought behind it than what You see on the screen.

One of the thoughts that crosses my mind often is:

"If i died tomorrow, and this was one of the last things my kids ever read from me, would i be okay with what it said about who their dad was?"

That's probably why i don't post as often as some people do.

Words aren't very casual to me.
i think about what i'm putting into the world.

i think about whether i'm...
helping somebody,
encouraging somebody,
challenging somebody,
or simply adding more noise.

The number has never really been the goal.

Impact is.

So to every person who stopped long enough to hit
like,
love, or
leave a comment on that post, thank You.

You may have just been agreeing with something i wrote, but on my side of the screen, it was a reminder that the things i'm trying to say are reaching people.

And that means a lot to me.

Good intentions do not save lives. Action does.

“Service Above Self” is more than a motto.

Words matter, but our actions reveal what we truly believe.

Our owner, Albert, is a Rotarian because service is one of the principles our company is built on. This time, he will be donating platelets to help someone facing a serious medical need.

Many of us want to make a difference, but it is easy to keep saying, “Tomorrow.”

A $75 gift card turned into something much bigger than anyone expected.

A local gentleman recently came into Appearance Kings with a gift card he had won through a donation basket for the VHS volleyball team.

But this story was never really about the gift card.

He had given nearly everything else in the basket to his family. Then we learned the story behind the motorcycle he brought to us.

For quite some time, a widow in our community had been calling this gentleman whenever she needed help around her home. Every time she called, he answered. He showed up, gave his time, completed the work, and never expected payment in return.

Recently, he had the opportunity to purchase this motorcycle from her. It was because of the consistency, kindness, and service he had shown her.

That meant something to us.

When he brought the motorcycle to Appearance Kings, we had the opportunity to continue what she had started. We were able to serve someone who had spent so much of his own time serving others.

Instead of stopping at the $75 value of the gift card, our team completed around $400 worth of polishing work at no additional charge.

This is what community looks like.

A Mom asks us to donate to her daughter's team.
Someone supports a local volleyball team.
A gentleman wins a basket and shares it with his family.
A woman honors the man who kept showing up for her. Then our team is given the opportunity to serve him.

Good still travels.

There are good people doing good things in this community. They are choosing service over self, often without recognition and without expecting anything in return.

At Appearance Kings, we are grateful when we get the opportunity to honor people like this.

People are not a transaction.

They are the reason we do the work.

This GMC came in for professional polishing on its American Force wheels. We refined the aluminum to bring back the clarity, depth, and mirror-like finish these wheels were designed to have.

The best work does not always come from an easy week.

This week stretched us, but it also reminded us why we do what we do.

A gentleman came to us a couple weeks ago needing the steer wheels on his semi polished to a mirror finish. We handled them with care, and when he saw the result, he came back with another piece: a headache rack from the back of his truck.

That matters to us.

When someone trusts us once, our goal is not just to complete the job. Our goal is to earn enough trust that they feel confident coming back.

We also had the opportunity to fully polish the aluminum tubes on a tri-toon boat for one of our clients, bringing life back to a surface that had lost its shine over time.

And soon, we will be ceramic coating a bus for Harrold school, a bus that drives students towards their hopes and dreams.

This is not just about shiny metal, clean paint, or polished surfaces.

It is about helping people take care of what matters to them.

That is the work we are grateful to do at Appearance Kings.

Sometimes the blessing walks right through the shop door with a snow cone in each hand.

We were sitting here working today when the owner of EZ SNO & Snacks right beside us walked up with two new flavors for us to try:

Root Beer Float

and this bright pink Barbie flavor.

i’m not gonna lie, that pink one had me looking real pretty out here in this Texas heat. 😂

But for real, we’re thankful for good neighbors, small-town kindness, and people who take the time to brighten somebody’s day for no reason other than just being good people.

Y’all go show them some love and grab a snow cone. They’re right beside Appearance Kings, and they’re out here keeping Vernon cool one cup at a time.

Vernon Chamber of Commerce is bringing the Chrome Classic Truck Show to Fannin Street this August, and Appearance Kings is opening the schedule for 1, maybe 2 full metal restoration projects before the show.

We’re talking tanks, wheels, boxes, steps, stacks, bumpers, and brightwork brought back with the kind of shine people stop and stare at.

But here’s the truth: this is not a quick wash and wipe-down.

Real metal restoration takes time. It takes cutting. It takes polishing. It takes the right process. And if You want it done before the show, You cannot wait until the last minute.

When we chose Diane Walker Bray for this year’s Mother’s Day Giveaway, we thought we knew what the blessing would look like.

Then people started stepping in.

We are not ready to show everything just yet, but we wanted to give You a small sneak peek at one of the businesses and people helping make this bigger than we originally imagined.

Blake Bivins at K&B Hauling and Removal, LLC heard there was a need and offered to donate his time and equipment to help Diane with something she truly needed.

Gravel for her driveway.

Diane was in need of a driveway that would keep her from having to stand in dirt all the time. It may sound like a small thing to some people, but for her, it matters.

A lot.

This is the kind of generosity that exists here in Vernon
