Hey everyone.
I know it’s been a while, a lot has been going on over and I’ve just been trying to keep up!
As some of you know and some of you don’t know…
Me and my family will be relocating out of state next month on the 17th, so we’ve been extremely busy aside and unfortunately with that, I’ve made some customers unhappy.
So I just wanted to say something real quick…
I know not everybody is going to agree with how I run my business, and I understand that. Everybody runs their business differently, and what works for one person might not work for somebody else.
But I also want people to understand what’s actually behind Vaughn’s Mechanics & Small Engine.
It’s me.
I’m one mechanic trying to keep up with all the calls, messages, vehicles and people needing help, while also working a full-time 8–5 job. Then there’s being a husband, being a dad, having a toddler, dealing with our own vehicles when they decide to break down, and just life in general.
On top of all that, we’re also in the middle of moving. We’re preparing to relocate, which has taken up a lot of our time and has definitely put us behind on some of the work and appointments we’ve had coming in. Between packing, getting everything ready, working, taking care of our daughter, and trying to keep the business going, it’s been a lot to juggle lately.
There’s only two of us behind this business trying to make everything work.
I know there are a lot of people who have had bad experiences with mechanics. I know there are shops out there that will charge people for things they don’t need or take advantage of someone just because they don’t know much about cars.
That’s one of the biggest reasons I started doing this.
I try to help as many people as I can because I know what it feels like to need your vehicle and not know who you can trust to work on it. I want to give people honest answers, fair prices, and good work.
But sometimes I’m just not able to get to everybody when they need me.
Sometimes a job takes longer than expected. Sometimes something comes up with my daughter. Sometimes our own vehicle needs attention. Sometimes we’re dealing with the move. Sometimes I simply run out of hours in the day.
I’m not a big shop with multiple mechanics and multiple bays. I’m one guy trying to run a small business after working all day.
So if I’ve ever had to reschedule you, couldn’t make it out when planned, or took longer than expected to get to you, please understand it’s not because I don’t care about your vehicle or your business.
I’m human, and sometimes life happens.
I’m doing my best to help everybody I can, but I also have to be realistic about what one person can handle.
And I’m not saying any of this to make excuses. I just want people to understand that every business is different. Just because another shop or mechanic operates a certain way and it works for them doesn’t mean I can run my business the exact same way.
I’m still learning. I’m still growing. I’m figuring things out as I go, just like anybody else.
I appreciate every person who has trusted me with their vehicle, recommended me to somebody, shared my posts, left a review, or even just reached out and gave me a chance to help.
I might not always be able to get to everyone, but I will always do my best to be honest with you and treat you the way I’d want to be treated.
Thank you to everybody who supports & has supported me and this little family business.
It means more than you know. 🖤🔧
